if/when we get the music video...then what else is there anyway?

she's not doing interviews this era...the new Vogue established that...print & definitely not filmed interviews. where can she perform? festivals are already booked & TV shows are going on break.

aint **** to look forward to from here on out realistically....it was a stupid idea to announce 6 weeks early. thats why she needs to get back to the surprise release....let the music do what its going to do.

I'm not even annoyed that there isn't a MV, I'm more annoyed with the lack of visibility and it's so... stupid. :deadbanana: They created an entire new IG account called @shopbeyonce that absolutely no one knows about, just to post the Renaissance collectibles. Now they're creating another IG page called @parkwoodentertainment. I'm tired of playing detective Pikachu and I'm not going to follow 50 Beyonce related accounts just so I can get the slightest piece of information that could you know... be displayed on her main socials with 250 million followers. Her team are certainly... old fashioned and perhaps technologically illiterate. They refuse to use the main driving factor that brings the most traffic: her main IG, Twitter, TikTok that are literally free to use and accessible by everyone who is a fan. There is nothing groundbreaking, "against the rules", about shadow dropping to create artificial hype and have it spread through word of mouth by the Twitter gworls. Just so she can get a trending topic for a cute couple of hours, which many people probably won't see due to the algorithm. I think she's obsessed with breaking the internet and trying to hijack the term Kim K coined. :rip:

The way we're only a week in and already having meltdowns. She'll come through eventually and we'll stop being OBH. It's not a Bey era without the meltdowns. :bibliahh:

Nah, I still trust the process with Bey. Whatever she wants the era to be, it will become that. And tbh there is quite obviously a TON of newness coming simply bc we are only looking at “act 1”. I, for one, am very much locked in and ready for however she wants to ride all this out.

Beyonce IS old school & that's fine....she's not checking for what Doja and Dua are doing nor does she need to. They are not her peers, she's in a different phase in her career and different goals. She has nothing to prove at this point. any success is a bonus from here on out.

she's not this new age TikTok girl and yall need to understand that. there will be no IG lives ever happening or "hey bestie!" DMs. if yall ain't okay with taking the music & go then she is not the celebrity for you.

The thing is: I feel like Bey's team consists of people like you, and while I understand that point, I'm sorry to say this, I feel like that approach and way of thinking is stupid. Plain stupid. If u agree with her approach, then yes, I feel that in this regard ur way of thinking is stupid as well.

Nobody in this base and none of her fans asks her to do these things, I don't want her to do IG lives because quite frankly I think she'd suck at them. BUT what I do expect somebody who, at least so far in her career, appears to be savvy and about her coin, to come up with IDEAS and ROLLOUTS that maximize her outcome in a way that still feels appropriate to her and does not take away from the things that are dear to her heart: Her privacy and the safety of her family.

And to be very honest, from the top of my brain I can easily come up with a strategy that allows for that to happen, so I have every right to criticize her and her team. And I will do so because I AM the consumer who gives her my money. Period.

Imagine Kim K coining it as if Beyonce hadn't already done it several times over when she released ST, announced her pregnancy, created Tumblr, Single Ladies video, etc. Countless other times.

now yall just sounding like jokes

Ok then so what is it?? Yall such marketing geniuses...maybe there's a Parkwood staffer scoping out platforms like this for ideas.

they already did the announcement, pre-order, & physicals like yall screamed about...what else can they do that makes sense & Beyonce will give a YES towards.

Type "break the internet" on Google Images and tell me what you see. Beyonce did break the internet, but who coined the term? Certainly not miss top 2 and I ain't #2.

I mean a surprise release isn’t the only option. She could have done a long rollout but actually secured promo gigs and festivals and concerts and whatnot beforehand :rip:. That’s what other artists do isn’t it?

Comparing it to Adele and Harry though... all I remember about Adele's leadup was the single/video, her Oprah interview (that I only remember because I've been reminded of it) and her concert special and then the actual album release during when I did stream some of it. As for Harry, all I recall is his single/video release which I sort of watched but not the whole thing.

Now, I do follow pop music but am not their fans so I'd say I'm only slightly more informed than the average person in the GP about them and nothing about their rollout activated me into caring, and even if they had done consistent promo from day one, I definitely didn't notice, get reminded of it, and thus it didn't quite have any effect on me.

Of course, all promo is more-or-less good and if they did more than what I described that's not to say it didn't have impact on some people, I just think being a bit more limited to what you choose to do might be beneficial so you can maximize attention and importance on what you actually do.

I agree though the BET awards made TOO MUCH sense to perform at... it was literally right there. But perfectionist Bey, she's not going to rush something just for the promo, that's for sure.

Adele did more than that. Her fans had things to look forward to which makes a big difference. She was communicating with her fans, she did few fun interviews with BBC radio 1, she did her Instagram live (which i dont want Bey to do) but it worked for Adele. She also did some videos with some YouTubers. And a bunch of other things. It was a fun ride!

Harry dropped his song with a video, just like Adele. And just like Adele, he immediately dropped several versions of his vinyls to different retailers. Which is the main thing that has been bothering me with Bey’s rollout. Whats taking so long to include retailers? But thats not it, Harry did a bunch of promo shows for his fans and he sold the tickets for only $20. On top of doing interviews and other fun stuffs. Coachella was also part of his rollout.

Finally, Bey shot the pics for British Vogue in April if im not mistaken. So they had at least 2 months to prepare this launch. The BET performance should’ve been in the cards and we shouldnt be in a situation where she might have to rush anything. They couldn’t even release the Break My Soul artwork on time :rip:

A little transparency and communication would go a long way because now we are all spiraling with theories and that takes some of the fun away.

Maybe I should go back to celebrating the fact that the song is even available on all streaming platforms and has a (basic) lyric video.

Formation was truly a fever dream lol. The unlisted video almost made us have strokes lmao.

you said it like Beyonce is taking cues from Kim K trying to do something she's already done several times over before Kim showed her oily big ass

And the immediate feedback was GREAT - she had great debuts for only 3 days of tracking all around the world and the buzz was there.

Now onto the next thing. This is simply NOT enough.
Where's an MV teaser, where's a reveal, where is a cute TikTok with a cute moment from Bey (she's the same woman who used to go to a school and dance with children for her Work Your Body campaign, so it's not like a TIkTok fun video would kill her - she used a snapchat video with Blue in her TG doc for Mood4Eva, so she is GOOFY), where's maybe a new teaser for Renaissance, where's a cute post about the vinyls, where's the use of IG stories, where's a BTS moment maybe of recording BMS... Like come up with stuff, I don't get paid neither have a degree in marketing, but hello? There are ways

I love that "Be Alive", like many Beyoncé deep cuts, continues to push her overall impact forward.

I'm of the group who believes that a mere award show nomination (doesn't even have to be a win) etches her name in the history of that awards show. When people look back and see what won over her artistic triumphs ... it always makes for a deeper conversation. Award bodies continue to attempt to humble her, and she keeps pushing.

Remarkable.

The way I keep agreeing with ChriZ and Blue but then switch toward Shoulders and Swiss :gaycat6:

Yall 4 deserve positions at Parkwood atp.

I guess one thing to consider is that eras are largely dying regardless of if you’re an industry veteran or if you’re a newer MPG. Dua’s found success with the longer era and Taylor has the re-recordings to be a big event, but all artists are largely doing very little for their records.

"Break the internet" wasn't even a saying until Kim K's cover. The internet has been "broken" many times before Beyonce's pregnancy or self-titled. I'm sorry, but the world does not revolve around our fave. Anyway, that is the besides the point I was making that was completely ignored. My point was her team using artificial hype as a strategy.

I cannot wait to see how she reimagines come of her classics on tour. Specifically Crazy in Love and Flawless as they are 2 of her more iconic live performance numbers.

If she integrates this remix of flawless, I will absolutely lose it

Btw, let's talk about the real upcoming star of Parkwood:

Little Mermaid, Colour Purple, new music, her demeanor, her beauty - she's going to kill the second half of 2022 and 2023. Mark my words!

Also in between my rants:

I am 100% convinced that about 60% of Bey's entire focus lies on the development of her tour and I am 100% convinced it's going to be a masterpiece. The other 35% are on the development of her music and the rest is well, the rest. I believe 0,3% are just spent on promotion which shows and which is just a shame because she still could pack a bigger punch.
Regardless, Renaissance will be epic in a month and the tour mindblowing.

The way I see it is:

She "should" have done this. She "should" have done that. It's still been just 1 week since the single came out. Getting so bothered may annoy others but isn't it annoying you more? Take a step back.

Press play on BREAK MY SOUL.

...remember when Beyoncé dropped a Nicki remix on Soundcloud and made its music video a Tidal exclusive.

Be glad we have a wide single release that only just got sent to radio today.

...remember how Formation was never even sent to radio.

Be excited for what is to come.

...it is coming.

So if it was before Beyonce....then that means it was happening much earlier than Kim K. so what's the point that we were supposed to learn there?? why is Beyonce supposed to be following after Kim K & in what capacity on a model that she had already done?
