In their defense, I do not think anyone really expected the re-recordings to go this well.  Taylor is having an unprecedented level of success with them.

Yeah, Red TV was probably shipped as though it was going to do Fearless TV numbers. Taylor and team definitely underestimated demand for this one :gaycat6: Hoping it won’t happen with the rest, though I’m sure it’s not easy to get right.

Lemonade - 321,000

OT: Cute :clap3:

Beyonce queen with an iconic album

Second best then:clap3:

…That was Lemonade’s first full week, hardly comparable.

30’s #s are way more impressive.

Lemonade was released on a Saturday so its first week was still 6 days.  You make it sound like its first tracking week was only 3 days like Self-titled.

Thee music industry demand is too powerful for anyone to compete but herself with herself :jonny:

not the swifites already holding on to the dear life for the argument (sea units) they're gonna use all week long to cry over 30s amazing 2nd week sales :jonny:

wow at Adele's pure sales :jonny5:

Black Friday hasn't had an effect on albums for years now. as you can see in the other albums numbers (literally only Adele and Taylor selling +20k)

What????? If she crosses 258k, that means that it will be the biggest 2nd week of sales for a female album ever since 25 :jonny:

Reputation 2nd week - 258k
Lover 2nd week - 178k

Folkore - 130k

Evermore - 169k

Sour - 193k

Those can't be real... I had no idea they were that frontloaded :deadbanana4:

wow, a really strong second week. :jonny2: almost doubling folklore's second week if these numbers are correct

i was too impressed by Adele & Taylor's hold, i didn't notice SOUR also doing numbers! 17k pure & back to #6? Black friday & Grammy effect :clap3:

Great hold for Adele :clap3:

Taylor stomping in her third week :clap3:

Michael Bublé once again taking over Christmas :deadbanana4:

One has 30 songs.

With only a handful of them being new and the rest 10 years old.

Red’s hold :jonny:  She’s probably kicking herself for not ordering more vinyl

Honestly, I think it was really hard to predict fan support for RED.  The original release of Fearless was significantly bigger, but Red really garnered more acclaim and love long after its release.  I am actually really interested in how the other releases go.  I am not sure 1989 will be bigger than Red and Speak Now seems like a complete wildcard to me.

contrary to what ATRLers believe, Adele isn’t a flop :clap3:

Adele and Taylor are both slaying, let’s celebrate that :clap3:

Do you know how it works? :skull:

Red is a long album and the most streamed song is 10 minute long :dies:

Tbh I don't think so. Longevity relies on big streaming numbers. This is barely doing 50k SEA second week.

But it never debuted with lots of streams to begin with. The drop in streams was still great so it definitely will have longevity. Especially considering the hold 30 has on Apple Music US. Truly remarkable :clap3: Also do not forget that she has a SMASH hit and smash hits are what carries the album SPS and keeps the longevity. Also no promoted second single yet. When the Christmas freeze will be over, they might promote OMG as a single with a MV and this will boost the SPS even more!

Queen of longevity :jonny5:
