  1. Abbot being awful for a decade and platforming the morally corrupt Ken Paxton to the point of unseating a senator, only for Paxton to lose and hand senate control the the Dems. Abbot himself may very well lose by a hair atp!
  2. Therapist speak going mainstream was really a huge mistake Y'all just be saying anything
  3. I just saw an attack ad from Paxton last night that said Talarico "supported men in girls' locker rooms" or some ****. That's the worst part, that the GOP were always going to run with that attack line regardless. Now he just looks weaker in the eyes of the base. I still stand by my opinion that the flub alone isn't going to affect his chances in any meaningful way. It's just a shame to see him be disappointing before a ballot has even been cast.
  4. I like to go on deep dives on various things, so I ask AI to make lists of stuff sometimes to assist with research, data consolidation, etc. Basically stuff I have a passing interest in but don't want to spend hours researching. I do try to cross-reference everything it spits back out at me though and would never take any AI slop output over an actual book, article, or something of that nature. There's a pretty big difference in "recommend me a book on x,y,z!" and "summarize this entire book because I don't want to read it", for example. It's fine as a jumping off point, but I have to be mindful not to use it as a replacement for mental labor.
  5. I do think he lacks media training, and would have liked a better response to the question. It's a shame that he was so quick to take that opinion, especially in light of his pro-trans past in the state house. I've personally made my peace with the fact that Talarico is a centrist that's going to have centrist takes a lot of the time. I'd just rather unpack some of his stuff after November because I'm afraid of Paxton winning as much as that makes me sound like an annoying resist lib.
  6. The Talarico trans thing is a mess, but it's not going to bump the needle one way or the other in my opinion Some people read too many think pieces.
  7. Oh I love this! Probably my favorite after Crash Out. The "undress yuh, make a mess yuh" is giving Ariana
  8. The fact that these idiots are still actively viewing this race through culture war bullshit is a good sign for Talarico. They are going to find out QUICK that it's not 2018 anymore. Why are you lecturing me about masculinity when my gas is four dollars?!
  9. The piece that you're missing is that Dems being asleep at the wheel for ten years has only emboldened and strengthened Trump and the GOP. Dems and the Democratic base at large have relied primarily on "well, look at the alternative " type messaging basically throughout the Trump era and have only suffered from it. People are tired. The type of political climate that thrives in a #bluenotmatterwho environment is one of complacency, and that has become more and more disturbing to watch as Trump and his goons continue to drive us into the rocks. Nobody is under the impression that progressives will get any large victories under Trump or any GOP administration. What they can do is be better platformed to actually sell their platform and take actions, however ultimately futile, to reign in this administration because checks and balances used to be a thing. But the Democrats have to endear themselves to the electorate first, and attacking Hasan Piker, El Sayed, etc. with more ferocity than they've attacked actual Republicans is not going to do that.
  10. but oh wow at her being in bed with the CIA, not that I'm too surprised. For all the visibility and larger movement she facilitated, she always did come off as a bit of a normie to me. Who would be a good alternative feminist to get into in the wake of Steinem's passing?
  11. Can Hunter Biden go away? Nobody is asking for him to be in the spotlight, actually quite the opposite. The whole gaggle of Obama era figures need to retire from public life.
  12. Are they coming back before January or is that it? I feel like it's understated that we're likely in the final days of the Trump era, at least legislatively. This decade has felt so ******* long
  13. I figured something like this would eventually happen once states started to ask for ID verification for a bunch of random ****
  14. I tend to be a spiritual person so I believe that on some level you can affect your reality through what some might call "manifestation" as part of a larger spiritual discipline. But I think the "set it and forget it" Pop Psych type stuff people fall for is largely hogwash.
