A week ago I was at the supermarket doing some shopping for dinner, and I took a moment to listen to what they were playing on the speakers; they were playing ******* AI-generated music. I obviously didn't have proof, but I shazam'd it and the song was called Neon Lights or some bullshit and it clearly sounded like algorithmic vocals when I got home. I asked on my neighbourhood's fb group what people thought about it and the amount of people defending it/saying THEY enjoy AI-generated music themselves was staggering 💀 (only a few, but still…) I think the divide will become more clearer once the tech improves. Some people literally want sound to accompany them while they do stuff and others care about the craft and the artist themselves, as someone above mentioned, the human qualities. I personally care about the craft behind a song and the effort it takes to manually do what it takes to create a hit but some people apparently don't 🤷‍♂️
