vs

The original version is god awful.

Thank god jlo and her team stole that sample because she got a bop with I'm real and Mariah got a bop with the released lover boy.

The Candy version is way better and fits the vocal. That was a great transition after a difficult situation.

Candy version for instrumental, Firecracker for the vocals

Cameo Candy sample made Loverboy unforgettable, phew

Candy, though she used the Firecracker sample flawlessly with Da Brat's bridge.

Firecracker all the way. I think this version sits comfortably next to the upbeat lead singles (Heartbreaker and Honey) before.

Candy with ease. Thank you, JLo

One of her funniest moments

Definitely Candy, the chorus melody feels too similar to the sample and the final product feels more musically pleasing. Candy is just a meatier funkier backing and the guitar is a great contrast to her airy vocals and makes the whole song sluttier

Candy (solo version) all the way. #ThankYouJLo #ImReal

Bless Tommy, cause we got the superior version in the end

Candy. The original is good too but it would have been "just there" for a lead single

Candy easily, Firecracker's always sounded like a demo

Mariah is singing her face off on both versions but the candy sample absolutely clears and then Luda and Da Brat's verses take it to the stratosphere.

candy but the remix. cameo's vocals on the original are not that good, but Da brat verses on the remix make it to another level.

I really love the firecracker version. it would've been an amazing lead single too.

Candy, but I like Firecracker version too

I like both but the Candy version is soooo much better, it really all worked out for the best

Candy by FAR. It's one of the best songs ever recorded

Firecracker version is cute, but the Candy version is EVERYTHINGGG

Firecracker version all the way, Mariah sounds way more into it and like she's actually FEELING the song! The beat and energy in her delivery elevate the song to an entirely new level and make for a much more special and pleasant listening experience to me. The Cameo version is cool too, but it kinda drags imo and feels derivative somehow

I'm just glad we have them all.

We declare Da Brat should be a bigger artist.

The Firecracker from the Rarities is one of my fav Mariah songs of all time. The sample makes the whole record feel more light and airy its a perfect addition to the slutty prime Mariah lead singles Honey - Heartbreaker - Loverboy
