ADÉLA outcharts KATSEYE on Spotify. Surprised?
She wouldve been the Beyoncè of the group had she debuted (Megan is the replaceable one I fear) and wouldve kinda ruined the group dynamics because of how much she radiates solo star. Thank God shes giving us these solo bops then

Spotify | Dua Lipa - Training Season (01/09) | Global #25 (2.2M), UK #98 (86k).

Short N Sweet turns 2. Share fav songs & moments!
taste was the highlight of the era for me. while espresso will always be that girl, taste just gets my poprock loving heart the right way, the visuals were also so camp i love that she's the only popgirl since gaga who's kinda whack and violent as f*ck and leans hard into it. the release of this song i think was the capstone that proved she was entering the big leagues of main pop girls as the new cohort with billie and olivia.

Will we ever see another pop star peak like Taylor Swift in 2023?
I think there'll be more Sabrina 2024/Olivia 2021 esque megasmash eras thatll happen for years to come where both the celebrity and commercial success matched pound for pound. But Taylormania was primarily fueled by her comeback narrative post Folklore and RED TV. I think her peak is a one of one. No other artist experiences a career peak almost 20 years into an already massive and illustrious career, MJ, Madonna, Prince, Beatles, etc. all experienced their prime in their first decade. Taylor came out of the gate swinging for her first 10 years and after coming off a relative slump for 3-5 years went even harder than she previously did in the 2020s. Thats never gonna happen with artists reliant on new material to gain new attention. Taylors new material gained attention because of how retroactively beloved her past discography has been in the here and now.

The Cure smashing 3 months after its release. What went right?
her hot 100 placement is so ass and a bad representation of how hard shes smashing. YSPSFAGSIL just gave her career another 10 years to it, im not saying she was flopping with GUTS but the way this record was received feels like the start of a lengthy mainstream smashing career. Its absolutely a frontrunner come awards season. this feels like the Melodrama of her discography, and she's already been making 2 insanely critically acclaimed records. She's probably the most consistent critically acclaimed MPG since Beyonce's 2013 run.

KATSEYE - "Hootie Frutti"
Yall have this weird idea of a KATSEYE thats never existed in the first place. Outside of Touch KATSEYE has never been a sugary straightforward pop group, theyve always been corny whack and club banger music.

Tate's 'sports car' confirmed via leaks as official part of GTA VI soundtrack
Recent footage leak of the incoming biggest game of all time GTA VI confirms that the smash hit from MPG Tate McRaesus is officially a part of the GTA VI soundtrack. Are you ready for Miss Tate's bop to be one of the definitive smashas from GTA VI and possibly being Gen Alphas favorite GTA VI song, the same way Rih's Only Girl in the World and Fergie's Glamorous defined GTA V's and millenials soundtrack? Footage is somewhere in reddit y'all just gotta look for it, game is lewkin GOODDDDD

'thank u, next' surpasses 10B streams on Spotify
i remember where i was on social media back when this first came out. people were making viral videos on twitter playing this song on top of their car roofs, brands were all in on the 'one taught me love', when 7R dropped and debuted with like 13m streams first day people were going crazyyyy

"I want Animal to be our Espresso" - Lara
Espresso is literally synonymous now with breakout smash hit its crazy. No Khia nonsense here
-
KATSEYE - "Hootie Frutti"
people need to accept that KATSEYE is a club music girlgroup first and foremost. Theyre here to make bangers, not pensive big soaring pop songs.

all it takes is one good song and theyre gonna get a smash hit on the hot 100. tbh if they performed FLOs Leak It that wouldve been a smash hit in the making.

Is Espresso the biggest cultural reset of the decade?
Say So is the mother but Espresso is the absolutely better version. The hooks are way more sugary and glittery. in terms of cultural footprint one can argue its probably the biggest. Other songs are bigger but Espresso was one of the few that actually brought exposure to the star themself. Drivers License did the same but is pretty forgotten in the overall Olivia canon, the same couldnt be said for Sabrina.

Ariana Grande - 'petal'
She got 1 megahit out of this record and thats really all she needs to prove shes still that b*tch causing all these conversations. The fact that shes doing this 13 years into such an illustrious career with such a high smash to effort ratio (post sweetener she has BARELY promoted her work) while girlies like Gaga Katy Rih had to bust their ass for years consistently just to smash but the world just kneels for Ariana I fear

Hot 100 | Final predictions (8/22/26): Texas #1 (x18), Midnight Sun #14, Oh Yeah? #20
petal is freefalling wtf, tbf it was pretty obvious its a great statement single but a horrible GP friendly song. taylor still smashing even in her off era oh thats the queen of pop
- "Manchild" proved ATRL wrong and became a smash hit. Why?
- yspsfagsil already outstreaming TLOAS on a daily to daily comparison. Why?

choosin texas, be her, hell at night, dandelion, shes on a crazy hitmaking streak. Her voice is beautiful too!! Choosin has such a good guitar riff I think that opening melody alone sells it!

Is Olivia mirroring Taylor's career progression so far (in terms of quality)?
we really cant tell for sure now but I think in terms of potential I think Olivia lacks what Taylor has brought since the early oughts of her career and that is an obvious intention to dabble in other sounds. After her debut, its clear Olivia has little to no intention in delving in other sounds beyond her acoustic pop rock punk sounds. By album 3 Taylor was already testing bluegrass, rock, country music with big pop mixes for her singles. doing the most but that user did have a point. reputation, folklore and debut do not belong on the same artists repertoire.
