What would the pop music landscape look like if COVID never happened? (Be realistic)
Taylor wouldve maintained a 600k to 800k presence probably but her 'biggest star in the world' title wouldve never happened. Folklore to Midnights was one big rolling ball of hype that she capped off with the Eras Tour. Shed be where Adele is post 30. Had the Lover Fest happened The Man and Cruel Summer wouldve become singles but theyd probably just be cute hits.

Taylor Swift
Shes just such a good albums maker that a mid album from her is treated as below garbage because her standards are so high. Shes one of the few popgirls the people actually clamor to hear the full body of work from. No shade but other stanbases just listen ti their faves to decide the next single lmao

Taylor Swift
The way no one acknowledges that behind Donald Trump, Putin, Messi and Ronaldo shes like the most famous person in the world

Hot 100 | Early look (8/15/26): Texas #1 (x17), HTIMYLM #2, Petal #3
Arianas longevity is insane. Its so easy to ignore popgirl longevity when someone like Taylor still exists in the top 10 but take her out and a career like Ariana's, at least Hot 100 wise is near unheard of outside of the Beyoncè's and Mariah's and Madonna's of Top 40. Even then these artists had multiple years where they had a hitmaking drought, Ariana has never stopped since debut its crazy, even Taylor herself had eras that failed to push a big hit. First top 10 in 2013, latest Top 10 August 2026. And there isnt even a large gap per top 10, shes snagged like a top 10 entry each year since her debut except in 2023.

Billboard 200 Predictions: petal heading for 300k+ debut
She and Taylor are like the only remaining girls right now whove never experienced a real flop era. Even Positions had like 2 big hits. 13 years in the industry her longevity is so underrated

Did Showgirl help or harm Taylor?
I feel as though realistically the general public will treat Showgirl the way they treated Speak Now in the coming years, its her 'forgettable' 2020s record, Ophelia and Opalite are clear standouts but the parent album will be easily forgotten. In contrast, Tortured Poets will be her Reputation this decade. Initial poor response but eventual fan favorite. Its become such a strong longevity holder its crazy, her synthpop moody ballad bag was strong on that one!

"Legacy artist" Beyoncé is top 30 with a reject. 29 consecutive years on Hot 100. Why
She by far has the most impressive longevity of the popgirls. The argument to be made for her is that she is doing these numbers while completely refusing to play the traditional rollout rule even Taylor is beholden to. She has been slashing her own commercial success since 2013 and is still capable of putting out art like this and at this level of success and mainstream stardom when her peers from 1997 have all but fizzled out.

For the first time in 35 years, there are no Rap songs in the top 40 on the Hot 100
Well thank God this era of rap is the most uninspired cheap and tacky. Piss poor production, almost wordplay, just all straight up direct references to drugs crime and sex. Mumble rap has to be the biggest offender. At least we have the likes of JCole, Kendrick saving mainstream rap. Even MTS herself. I remember when hiphop used to play with the sickest most unique beats and soundscapes regardless of lyricism that made their records so timeless. Crank It, Lose Yourself, even a bop like Good Day now we have so much schlop

Is Madonna the only one left behind?
Amazing album she sounds so much in her prime!!
-
Is Madonna the only one left behind?
Confessions II came out at the perfect time because I think she has rehabilitated her image so well shes actually getting mainstream credibility once again well into her 70s this time

Hot 100 | Final predictions (7/18): Texas #1 (x13), IKIIKY #2, ICLYA #4, Dracula #5
Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Olivia Dean, JENNIE, Ella Langley all sharing the Top 10 is crazy. Its crazy how the BLACKPINK girls are all getting their own respectable genuine smash hits omg
