That said, I'm interested in the theorized "darker" Showgirl, but my issue with that theory is that she already has several songs about the downside of fame (and they usually make her look really out-of-touch tbh), so a whole album on that idea sounds like a bad idea imo.

I think at this point it would take a pretty significant push from Ella and her label to prevent this from easily hitting #1 on streams and radio alone. Points are low right now, even for Choosin' Texas, and IKIIKY getting dropped like a rock on radio (probably in part because her label knew this was coming) will help this have a stronger start than if it were still gaining. It's possible, and we still aren't sure how severely she'll be impacted by this being standalone rather than with an album/deluxe all at once, but this would have to really tank for that to happen IMO.

Well I knew it… I knew her, but I actually didn't know about it going #1, therefore in my head it simply didn't. The last argument I followed on ATRL was the #2 curse… so it's still #2 to me.

Ella taught Taylor a lesson and put her back in her place. And that song from the milked-to-death toys movie… the one where a human has toys that speak or whatever? People already forgot about the song. Kind of reminds me of Taylor's career, except Taylor is always active whereas Woody at least has the decency to turn into an object and shut up sometimes.

I believe its an extension of Showgirl. The CD jewel case inserts have the Showgirl glitter backgrounds.

There's no way she's reheating her own nachos to launch a new era. That has never been her style.

I honestly can't think of a single time where she's released a brand new single without it being the lead to an album or on a soundtrack.
