Patient Zero is better than most of TLOAS. Pink Clouding has interesting moments (I think I like the second verse best), but it's kind of odd how it doesn't seem to be about her life during the Eras tour, which is the premise of the album. Babylon is pleasant tbh! Cleveland! is as bad as the parent album.

Is there any other possible outcome That said, I'm interested in the theorized "darker" Showgirl, but my issue with that theory is that she already has several songs about the downside of fame (and they usually make her look really out-of-touch tbh), so a whole album on that idea sounds like a bad idea imo.

I can obviously only speak to my own experience (and somewhat for close friends who go regularly), but the reputation invoked here seems to me to be true of the Pines, but not the island as a whole. So yes, some of the comments here that flat out dismiss it—and especially doing so with judgemental comments about stereotypes—does feel rooted, to some extent, in homophobia and the desire to brag about ~not being like the other gays~ I go every summer and am 100% sober (don't even drink) and have gone when in a relationship and didn't even hook up once. Just because the Pines is full of parties where people are likely going to do drugs and hook up doesn't mean that you have to. I stay in Cherry Grove and have only ever been in a diverse group of people who have a great time going to bingo, relaxing on the beach, seeing drag shows, getting ice cream and going on walks, etc. Fire Island is unique in being a place where you can go and not expect to see any (or very few) straight people. You don't need to police your behavior, be afraid of judgement, fear the police (after certain hours), etc. Refusing the very idea of going just because circuit gays will be there feels very reductive to me.

Yes, I have no issue dropping artists with awful views. Why would I enrich them with my streams when there are millions of other songs I could stream? I've stopped listening to MAGA artists (Carrie & Nicki), Macy and Roisin for transphobia, P!nk for zionism, etc.
