It's so hard to determine if I prefer Punisher or Lost Weekend. On the one hand, Lost Weekend is so solid as a full album. I basically only listen to it from start to finish, never individual songs. On the other hand, no song on LW is as strong as Moon Song.

There's a popular theory in some corners of the internet that this was intentional sabotage; she apparently was contractually obligated to work with Macy, but clocked her transphobia So she recorded an off-putting vocal track to hinder the track's longterm success on streaming, just to limit Macy's bag. Now that's true allyship

It's bizarre that she can recognize how good this album is and yet still released Showgirl, like Hopefully the album inspires her artistically.

Oh I loved everything I heard at both events. The album is 100% up my alley, full of slower & midtempo songs, her usual clever lyrics, etc. Love the ones about her dad. Lost Boys def stands out as the most upbeat song. There's one other upbeat (a country-ish song, so she can come for Ella's wig), but the album is rather mellow on the whole. If I had any critique, it's that if feels like not a huge evolution from Punisher, but since I like Pheobe at that register, I'm not complaining.

I saw her show at MSG where she played most of the new music and I just heard the full album at my local planetarium earlier today... And yes, I can say the rollout is top tier!!
