I swear Justin Bieber is the only artist in the world who gets the pass for doing the most basic ****.

For example, the FIFA halftime show: he literally just went out on a stadium, picked up a guitar, sang, and people are wowed by the performance??? Just see the comments on the YouTube video below.

Or his Coachella? And a lot of other examples.

I truly don't get it. I can see the beauty in simplicity (e.g. Someone Like You at the Brit Awards), but everything that man does is half-assed.

If men have it that easy I think I should become a musician too. I can't sing for ****, but I'm a man and the bar seems to be in hell for us.

His audience expects absolutely nothing from him so whichever crumbs they are fed are more than enough.

Thankfully it's not truly widespread. Madonna's performance is outviewing his despite him being a much bigger streaming force!

I've noticed a lot of people who are first introduced to male celebs when they're young and successful will always view them that way.

The little Beliebers will always see him as that floppy haired teenager singing Baby, and they'll always make excuses for him because of it.

People always want to root for the anti-popstar, he also gets sympathy points for being a child star and is a shell of a corporate machine. People think just because he does the bare minimum means it's simple and authentic.. And it just so happens mediocrity is celebrated today literally everywhere. You can be simple like Adele at the Royal Hall and not scroll on your phone on stage.

He is so talentless that people get easily impressed by the little things he does. It's like when a baby says "ma" their parents react like "Did you just say Mommy?!? My baby is a ******* genius omgomg"

If people wanted to listen to playback they'd just switch on songs on their Spotify or Apple Music.

His attempt to be authentic turned out to be the most manufactured thing I've ever seen, thinking you're a non-conformist and resting on that makes you the most conformist person in the world and the ridiculous thing is, he doesn't even realize it.

This is what it means to be on stage free from one's persona and stripped of the stereotypes others impose on us. This is how an artist lays themselves bare, artistically speaking:

Because his audience is made of people with zero expectations that are just happy and satisfied with anything he does. Not like there's anything wrong with picking up a guitar and singing, but that's just enough for them.

He's a superstar who always looks miserable in his public appearances so naturally people root for him and get excited when they see those sparks of life he used to have. The white male reasoning is a cop out and doesn't really hold up bc I'm pretty sure no one would give a **** if it was Ed Sheeran or Adam Levine up there.

Because hes in the golden ratio of Pop:

• Hot but not too hot ("attainable" hotness)

• Talented but not too talented

• Flawed and thus far from perfect => relatable

• Vocally imitable

• From rags to riches story

Its artists like him, Swift, Rihanna, Britney, etc that immensely benefit from that golden ratio of Pop.
