Ever since her debut era ended something seemed off with her success wise. It will always baffle me how her singles from The Evolution didn't even come close the success of the singles from Goodies. The songs were great and she came off the heels of a big era. I mean, how could a 50 Cent feature barely crack the top 40 in 2007? Even Love, Sex, Magic peaked high but then quickly tumbled out of the Hot 100. The previous single, which peaked at #66, had more longevity on the charts. I think LSM didn't even last 20 weeks. And that's with THE main pop boy at the time as a feature. The quality material was there, so perhaps it's indeed her team that sucked.

A score between 40-50 is not a horrible album for me. That's an average or slightly below average album to me. Which is exactly what Charmbracelet is to me. An actual horrible album deserves a score of 20 or lower. An album like Kevin Federline's is in fact horrible and deserved such a score. That's why I do not agree with the scores of 10 and 20 that some publications gave to it. Charmbracelet shits on his album. I don't see how my score implies none of the people involved are capable of making good music. The score only implies that I think Charmbracelet is rather weak to average.

I've always had a sweet spot for Burning Up. It's loud and grating as ****, but I can't help but love the song.

Well, you still have people stanning Chris Brown, R. Kelly and Kanye West as well. Of course Nicki would still have stans left. Some people are broken beyond repair. I can understand that you still listen to their music if it came on at a party or on the radio. But to actively idolize them... I think I'm gonna pass on that one.

Charmbracelet is one of my least favorite Mariah albums. I will say the album is very cohesive, it just happens to be that the more restrained sound she went for just doesn't resonate with me. It has one or two songs that I can vibe with a little, but overall I think the album is very forgettable. To give the album a score of 10 or 20 is a little too much, but very typical of reviews in the early 2000s. We're talking about the same outlets that panned albums like Damita Jo and Stripped, based on the artist's public image at the time. Personally I'd give it a score between 40 and 50. You can tell Mariah put effort in it, but in the end the album falls flat and is not very memorable. Quality wise it's comparable to Music Box to me, only without the highs that the latter has.

I love Caution, but Bedtime Stories clears. Secret alone seals the deal, but that album also houses Survival, Love Tried To Welcome Me, Forbidden Love, Human Nature and Take A Bow.

I haven't checked them out that much, but Look At Me is a wonderful song. Love that one. I also know Never Be The Same again and What Took You So Long, both nice songs. Maybe I know some others as well, just not by their titles.

7.8 is a solid score. All For You is the weakest among her 5 big albums, but it is still a strong body of work.

Beautiful is a great ballad but Oh Mother (her overall best song), Walk Away, Impossible (if counted as a ballad) and All I Need are even better than it.
