On my 5th listen - The '*' in A*POP must represent a bootyhole because that's what it sounds like this album came from - she should rename the album ASSPOP

I like the whole album on first listen...it'll grow on me for sure. Experimental within her range.

only critique is i could've enjoyed more MR NONCHALANT, MR MEDIA, and IS IT? type bops! but thats rly it. i'm happy with it

She really needs to stick to a single exec producer because this is very directionless and a slog to get through. And she can't crossover with this dated EDM pop sound.

I like Crazy for Me for instance has one producer and sounds well developed into a full song.

the melody and production of the first verse of KISS is actually to die for i wish it was in the song more

some of the tracks take some getting used to cause they are so different production wise from what people were expecting

but TRUST this album is grower i've had it on repeat and you will start bopping eventually

feel something is kind of a chop but i'll let it slide since she did her big one with the absolute perfection sister tracks:

CRAZY OF ME and I DON'T CARE

she better pull a TYLA+ and Push 2 Start that song "Selfish" she performed at the pre party

omg i knew y'all were overreacting, this is a solid follow up and i had an enjoyable listen

stand outs: Kiss, Right Now, Is It Love, That Girl, Mr. Nonchalant, Crazy of Me + i didn't care about She did it again when it was released but it kinda works in the album whew

Go Tyla i hope something will organically smash from the new tracks

after first listen (first time hearing any of the tracks in full after WWP - EP was released) I put a star to

Into my 2nd listen, but so far, the songs that I would keep are:

THAT GIRL

KISS

MR NONCHALANT (I think it's my fave from the new one) 

RIGHT NOW 

CRAZY OF ME 

Chanel, Is It, and She Did Again are the obvious standouts. The WWP songs are so much better and stronger than a lot of these songs; like, even BLISS is better. 

I also agree with the lack of adlibs. The worst part is not like she can't sing ? 

Otherwise, very disappointing right now. The lack of live performances and ofc where are the BOPS? I expected Push 2 to start or Been thinking types of songs!

this reminds me of bangerz when ppl expected… bangers for start to finish and the album got filled with mid tempos

she should've expanded the sound from kiss if she didn't want to go back to push 2 success

It's not terrible… it's just not very interesting. This needed another 6 months to a year in the oven.

Kiss however is excellent. She needs to do more work with Ian Kirkpatrick.

I also like Chanel, Mr Nonchalant and I Don't Care.

yeah this sounds way undercooked for me, compared to her debut+ (which i thought was great). it also suffers from terrible tracklisting. i'll def try the revised versions that some of y'all did in the past pages. from the newer tracks only Kiss & the final 3 picked my interest and that's it.

The intro of kiss is the only interesting thing on the album. Every song just goes nowhere.

She's about to be sentenced to lifetime imprisonment in the Khia Ayslum…

This album.... she's just not serious. Everyone at Epic needs to lose their jobs.

I was going to write all my frustrations with her album but I'm not going to put that all on her, cause I'm sure multiple executives heard this and agreed this was the album she needed to release to further her career, so there's an element of sabotage baked into to her record contract (I'm sure of it).

DYNAMITE and MR. MEDIA are better than everything on this entire project and for all the hate she gets from Nigeria she might need to rebrand into being a (strictly) AFROBEATS artist, the "african crossover pop" vision was there (in the visuals too) but the output is so bad. This album is a shame following up from TYLA+

Initially, I was underwhelmed because the album was very mellow, more than I expected. But even then, I still thought it was a strong record… a 4 Stars to TYLA's 4.5 but now????

I'm obsessed Once you let go of the expectations of BOPS GALORE in the traditional sense, this album is a marvel. It kind of sucks that so much of her music is usually spoken from a vantage point of commercial success because she is really good at crafting beautiful albums.

This record is very much "hot summer night" and it makes me want to explore South African music more.

That Girl, Feel Something and Double Blind were songs that I felt were bare bones at first but now, I'm in love with them! KISS is a HIT and that run from FAIRYTALE to HOT TUBS (a career highlight btw) is something else If it keeps growing on me like this, I might prefer this to TYLA
