its not a BAD album, theres a lot of potential here. but i think she still isn't 100% sure of who she is as an artist. track sequencing is all over the place. once i get some more time with it i'll post my tracklist

Is It Love should have been scrapped.

That Girl and Kiss are absolute bops. Kiss kind of threw me off. Wasn't expecting it to sound like that- love the switch ups.

it's not a bad album I expected smtn worse based on the twt reactions... the aesthetics don't match the final product which is a bit ehh ? Aside from the singles, it's more on the chill side

Definitely a downgrade compared to her debut though. A LOT of mid-tempos and not enough interesting bridges/vocal production. The R&B tracks sounded a bit dated and filler-ish (especially Is It Love and Double Blind wth was that). The mid-section was a bore but it got better at the end

I ... really liked Hot Tubs ? I'd love to see a nocturnal inspired album from her, she'd suit it. Kiss was good as well

this is a steep decline from her debut, and from a very very promising EP (which was far far better than this, minus IS IT)

This livestream is a mess. Fights, horrible DJ, wack crowd.

What a disappointing record. The only new songs that made an impression on me are Kiss and Mr. Nonchalant on first listen. The odd tracklist (why is IS IT LOVE the opener?), lack of identity within this record and the boring mid tempos. Fairytale is the one of the worst songs I have ever heard to be honest.

It feels like Tyla just doesn't have the drive to want to be a big pop star. The whole album campaign after Chanel has been a mess.

I don't even think it's that she doesn't have drive, she just needs Rihanna treatment with writing camps because i don't think her writing skill or ear for hits is quite there, the lack of hooks and melodies on this album is crazy.

She's also incredibly mismanaged and the fact her team greenlit 95% of this album is beyond me, such a pivotal moment in her career being botched this bad with lacklustre and in some respect straight up bad material.

Yes, the lack of melodies and hooks is indeed crazy. The fact Kiss is the only new song with a memorable hook and she and her label are not pushing it but they are pushing the turd that Is It Love. Is It Love is a cute demo scrap, at best it's an average album track. It's not a song that should open an album like WTF? Not when IS IT is right there. The opening line of that song is opener material and underpins the concept of this album. I'm so disappointed with this lazy effort of an album and its associated campaign.

Like the album but I think there are too many mid-tempos, I hope she has an extended version ready to go with more bops or something like that cause the album really needs more upbeat moments
