Guilty As Sin's bridge:

What if I roll the stone away?
They're gonna crucify me anyway
What if the way you hold me

They don't know how you've haunted me
So stunningly
I choose you and me

Who's gonna tell me the truth
When you blew in with the winds of fate
And told me I reformed you
When your impressionist paintings of Heaven

My friends tried, but I wouldn't hear it
Watch me daily disappearing
For just one glimpse of his smile
All those nights you kept me going

Now we're at the starting line, I did my time

Now, pretty baby, I'm running
To the house where you still wait up, and that porch light gleams

I Look In Grammy Voters' Windows is highkey top 3 on the album and a thesis statement about the whole thing, people must be ready for that conversation.

All of these jonny

I'll post a couple of my faves that haven't been posted yet

All my mornings are Mondays stuck in an endless February

I took the miracle move on drug, the effects were temporary

And I love you, it's ruining my life

I touched you for only a fortnight...but I touched you

The dopamine races through his brain on a six-lane Texas highway

His hand so calloused from his pistol softly traces hearts on my face

And I could see it from a mile away, a perfect case for my certain skill set

He had a halo of the highest gradе, he just hadn't met me yеt

Oh, what a valiant roar
What a bland goodbye
The coward claimed he was a lion
I'm combing through the braids of lies
"I'll never leave" ...
"Never mind"
Our field of dreams, engulfed in fire
Your arson's match your somber eyes
And I'll still see it until I die
You're the loss of my life

And you say I abandoned the ship
But I was going down with it
My white knuckle dying grip
Holding tight to your quiet resentment and
My friends said it isn't right to be scared
Every day of a love affair
Every breath feels like rarest air
When you're not sure if he wants to be there
So how much sad did you think I had,
Did you think I had in me?
How much tragedy?
Just how low did you think I'd go?
Before I'd self-implode
Before I'd have to go be free..

Ttpd is always funny to me because it was the album released after her peak so some of you think it's relevant. In reality only success stans that started stanning after folklore really care about it.

Which song is this from?

Beauty is a beast that roars down on all fours

Demanding more

Only when your girlish glow flickers just so

Do they let you know

It's hell on earth to be heavenly

Them's the breaks, they don't come gently

Adult life is hard and tiring shakeno

All those nights you kept me going, swirled you into all of my poems.

That was the moment I realized she was serious about cardigan being about Matty.

I hate it here so I will go to
Lunar valleys in my mind
When they found a better planet
Only the gentle survived
I dreamed about it in the dark
The night I felt like I might die
No mid-sized city hopes and small town fears
I'm there most of the year
Cause I hate it here
I hate it here

cried to this song a bunch of times, as someone who hates where i live

Here are some of my faves from the standard:

Fortnight:

All my mornings are Mondays stuck in an endless February
I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary

TTPD:

At dinner, you take my ring off my middle finger and put it on the one
People put wedding rings on, and that's the closest I've come
To my heart exploding

So Long, London:

So how much sad did you think I had
Did you think I had in me?
How much tragedy?
Just how low did you think I'd go
Before I'd self-implode?
Before I'd have to go be free?

Fresh Out the Slammer:

Gray and blue and fights and tunnels
Handcuffed to the spell I was under
For just one hour of sunshine
Years of labor, locks and ceilings
In the shade of how he was feelin'
But it's gonna be alright, I did my time

Guilty as Sin?

My bedsheets are ablaze, I've screamed his name
Building up like waves crashing over my grave
Without ever touching his skin
How can I be guilty as sin?

The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived

And I'll forget you, but I'll never forgive
The smallest man who ever lived

The Alchemy:

There was no chance, tryna be the greatest in the league
Where's the trophy?
He just comes running over to me

We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist

PERIOD, queen having taste. Voicenotes alone >>>>>>>>>>

I feel like TTPD's 31 songs are perfectly encapsulated in these two verses from Chloe Or Sam or Sophia or Marcus:

You said some things that I can't unabsorb
You turned me into an idea of sorts
You needed me but you needed drugs more
And I couldn't watch it happen
I changed into goddesses, villains and fools
Changed plans and lovers and outfits and rules
All to outrun my desertion of you
And you just watched it

If you want to break my cold, cold heart
Just say, 'I loved you the way that you were'
If you want to tear my world apart
Just say you've always wondered

Thought of calling ya, but you won't pick up
'Nother fortnight lost in America
Move to Florida, buy the car you want
But it won't start up 'til I touch, touch, touch you

GAS is a masterpiece beginning to end, so I'll highlight my other secret fav that few people love

I'm lonely, but I'm good
I'm bitter, but I swear I'm fine
I'll save all my romanticism for my inner life
And I'll get lost on purpose
This place made me feel worthless

Reading these and I'm supposed to believe this album is BAD!? There were legitimate critiques of Showgirl to be made, but many of y'all were LYING about TTPD and just pressed by Taymania/her nonstop winning. I mean, we have a DISCOGRAPHY's worth of best lines on page one from all different songs. I need people to be serious about TTPD quickly. It's a CAREER highlight in one of the best discographies of all time.

I actually think the release of the Anthology was just too much for the GP. They just saw 31 songs and started having meltdowns... though I have to admit even for me, a stan, initially it was a lot. It took a few weeks and listens to digest and realize that this is some of her best writing ever. Competing with GODlore and everGOD, but in some ways surpassing them because these songs are unapologetically about her life.

I think if the Anthology had been released later (like a few months later) the project overall would have been received much more favorably.

He said that if the sex was half as good as the conversation was, soon they'd be pushing strollers

But soon it was over jonny2

Drowning in the Blue Nile
He sent me "Downtown Lights"
I hadn't heard it in a while
My boredom's bone-deep
This cage was once just fine
Am I allowed to cry?

I dream of cracking locks
Throwing my life to the wolves or the ocean rocks
Crashing into him tonight, he's a paradox
I'm seeing visions, am I bad?
Or mad? Or wise?

I've always found the first verse of GAS? to be so evocative. And the fact that it's an entire song centered on her masturbating about Matty ******* Healy while still with Joe deadbanana2

Who's gonna tell me the truth, when you blew in with the winds of fate
And told me I reformed you?
When your Impressionist paintings of Heaven turned out to be fakes
Well, you took me to hell too
And all at once, the ink bleeds
A conman sells a fool a get-love-quick scheme
But I felt a hole like this
Never before and ever since

I mean... no one's doing it like this jonny5
