I think what y'all are missing with Jay's involvement is that he has (likely) pushed non-white artists to get the gig, and many from hip-hop/rap, who probably would have not gotten the chance previously. Every HT headliner has been a POC since he took over (other than Eminem); that is a huge benefit to having someone like Jay in the role.
