  1. Why didn't the female rap reporter break this story? @Yes, AND do you want to call up your bestie?
  2. Can you point me to where I infantilized her? All of what you pointed out is true, I don't think I've disputed that? She does care a lot about her PR, when she feels strongly about something (and the fact that she hasn't spoken up in Trump 2.0 and this invite is not a good look). I'm merely responding to the point that we don't know what happened with Blake beyond the lawsuit — Cancelled was written in 2024 and seems to be a pro-Blake song and when Showgirl came out (after the lawsuit drama), Taylor said she still stands by what she wrote on Showgirl. Sooo perhaps it was something additionally that caused this friendship to crumble? We really don't know. And I was also responding to the point of "why are they inviting his best friend's dad?" MAYBE Taylor thought it was a bad look but Travis felt very strongly about having him there. We don't know anything! Maybe Karlie and her reconnected after the Eras tour, or maybe she reconnected with her when her and Blake were falling out because she missed her old friend?? I'm not defending her decision to invite him and yes she's a capitalistic billionaire but she also is human and we know very litte about her. She's done a great job at cultivating a parasocial relationship with her fans, but also with people that don't like her because both groups act like they know so much about her
  3. 1) we don't know what actually went on behind the scenes between them, maybe some really intense other things went down? 2) but we don't know how close Travis is to this guy. I will likely be inviting the parents of some of my childhood best friends (because our familes are friends) to my wedding... but I couldn't describe in detail what they do for work (of course, none of them are CEOs of companies but) A lot of the discussion in the thread is based on assumptions and hypotheticals, and fuming at the made up scenarios. Is it a bad look that this guy is there? Yes, and that's her cross to bear. But how many of you could actually describe the jobs of the parents of your good friends from childhood?
  4. Yeah this isn't it. I agree that he doesn't run the camp and I don't subscribe to a lot of the hyperbolic language used on here today, but he absolutely knows what projects his company is working on. It's a bad look for Taylor, but again, it raises the question of where we draw the line.
  5. When you have to rely on the cupcake user to defend your position... you've already lost
  6. ...is it? Is it functionally that different than sharing a website with photos and videos to your guests after your wedding? Like yes, it's more produced... but this is a massive pop star/artist... surely it's not that crazy to think that an artist would want to do something a bit more OTT...
  7. All caught up now! Ya this is a bad look for Ms Kelce. Feel as if it's a bit disingenuous to call her and Travis MAGA, but I agree with another user's point that her lack of anti-Trump/MAGA speak is... disappointing to say the least, especially given her proclamations in 2020. It would be great if she spoke out more, but seems like that isn't going to happen. It's also important to be careful with our language -- this guy isn't the "owner" of a ICE detention facility, he's on the board of a company that contracts with them. Functionally, both are really bad, but we should be careful when making our points and accusations. SO many companies we use contract with ICE and DHS... Apple, Amazon, Hilton, Wells Fargo... obviously the company that this guys is affiliated with is pretty egregious in ICE's atrocities, but I wonder where we draw the line about boycotting/supporting companies that support this. Hell, the mutual funds that I bet a lot of our retirement funds are part of depend on the stocks of companies like Raytheon and Lockheed -- companies that are NOT good, yet we're financially benefiting from. Maybe this is a topic for a separate thread, but how do we be ethical consumers in this system? OT: BAD look from Taylor. But she's not going to release a statement about this; the users hoping that she will are absolutely delusional. also: what are you referring to when you say I'm all about the "guilt by association" thing?
  8. The way I'm in in PDT and need some time to catch up on the thread that broke last night give me some time ma
  9. yea the Kushners are a bit too obvious
  10. who are the rapists and wife-beaters who attended her wedding?
  11. Those who get it, get it! my take is that it's comes off as Taylor being extra funny and goofy, but we also know it's NOT a joke and she's being so serious, which is a little cringe, BUT ALSO it just makes it so endearing and human. And that's one of the reasons I like her as an artist. I Forgot That You Existed, on the other hand.... well.... With you on Treacherous and SOG
  12. The backfire in this thread I just know that OP is fuming
  13. I'm so confused because certain ATRL users told me that the long wait between IOP and AITD killed her career! What went RIGHT?
  14. "So tell me everything is not about me. But what if it is?"
