I don't believe in it but I like their aesthetic.

Christians why are all of your holidays stolen from pagan rituals

Theists why does your religion cause irreparable harm to the world and people in the name of your deity

but u are a swiftie

astrology - i don't believe in general, very basic astrology like the generic ones based just on ur sun sign. but i do believe in the more complex deeper version of it. at night you can see how the moon affects, the water causing it to rise, the sun gives us & the plants & animals we eat energy. it would be kinda ignorant of me, not to think that the planets do affect us in some sort of way, even if we aren't able to see it ourselves.

karma - i don't believe it in a western sense

witchcraft - idk i never witnessed it, so i don't believe in it imo.

the supernatural - possibly, might have seen a thing or two on a trip. don't remember much about it though, as if they wiped my memory tbh.

I'm just asking as someone who believes in things that are backed by peer reviewed scientific evidence. I will see atheists on here claim to believe things that have no scientific backing, and have been debunked.

wait... is the existence of god backed by "peer reviewed scientific evidence"? did i miss sumn

i thought you believed in god lmfao my bad 😭

and yeah i can read. you didn't clarify you were atheist at all, and the way you phrased the question to atheists made it sound like you were arguing for the other side

Ion believe in most of that scheisse no offense pancake I do somewhat believe in ghosts though, cause one time I f*cked a ghost and then another time I had a supernatural experience with my bubbie (which is Yiddish for grandmother, for those of you who for some godforsaken reason don't damn know that 😒) where she basically just said "hi" to me. I was like 23 when that second one happened and I was home alone in my parents' house and it was so surreal cause I had sleep paralysis when it happened. dude that sh*t was nutso. she was on my ceiling and the craziest part is that the old upright piano my parents have in that house is right downstairs under my bedroom there and f*cking… there's this portrait of my bubbie that they keep on top of it tornado so I'm literally right above that picture when this happens. one of the scariest half minutes of my life fr

I just want to know why. There's no scientific truth to it. I wonder if it's because humans yearn for spirituality, and these things have become their new religion.

Hmm maybe. Like when someone loses a loved one we like to believe there spirit is still with us without believing the meaning on heaven where people who are religious like to believe there loved ones are watching over them or above them shutup

I don't ahh

There's also something to be said about "atheists" who are not actually atheists and are spiritual in a way that directly opposes atheism

A therapist recently told me that humans have a desire to be part of something bigger. As more people reject traditional religions they look for different sources. Even a football club can be a "replacement", which is also why a lot of fans are so defensive of their teams.

I agree. I'm noticing this a lot too. Like people take politics as their livelihood, with some making political figures their deity. I kinda want to dig deep into this and see if there's any studies on this.

I got a notification and I wanna add something to the hardcore science girlies who like to judge the things they don't believe in.

Read about quantum physics, check out the scientific work of Jacobo Grinberg, read about the Monroe Institute, epigenetic and its relation to generational trauma, microchimerism and its effects on experiences that cannot be "explained" yet they happen.

There are still a many mysteries about our own existence. I do love science, I am a scientist myself, but I'm also spiritual and I know that science, as a dogmatic sociopolitical/economic entity has not always been used for good. The soul cannot be quantified and I don't think you must renounce to one thing to believe in the other (science vs spirituality), in fact, I think they are complementary to the human experience. But that's my perspective.

If you don't believe, respect. It costs you nothing. xx

I don't believe in it but I act like I do because I like the vibes, it's fun to drag your friends based on their star signs
