What are you even talking about? There is a whole legal battle with video games to keep them preserved. Stop Killing GamesStop Killing Games — They Kill Games. We Fight Back.Publishers are permanently destroying the video games you paid for. Right now, some games require servers to remain playable. Once support is cut, the game is removed. EA and Ubisoft have both done this exact thing. They removed games from sale. There's also a reason why there's a push to remove DRM from games so you don't need a license to play the game.

There's a huge discourse right now with GTA V being digital only. The issue with this is if the game is removed you can no longer play it. Meaning despite sinking nearly $100 into the game, you don't actually own it. This goes for books, movies, and music also. Once it's removed from the streaming service its gone forever. The other part is, some people have purchased digital copies of movies, and Sony removed them. So you can no longer view the movie you purchased. Shows on HBO, once cancelled are removed from it, so you can't stream it. If a show ends on Netflix, you can't buy the physical copy. So now we have potential lost media. However, the only option to prevent this is to buy physical copies, there are other things but ATRL censors that kind of discussion. Are you returning to physical media beyond just music? I've been planning to just buy my favorite movies and tv shows and not wonder when they'll be removed for some dumb license reason.
