IKIIKY bombing on all streaming platforms, #16 on US callouts. Why?
The rare instance of a song that is completely carried by payola. Usually, songs are only partially carried or boosted by payola, but this is just fraudulent.

Lara of Katseye inspired by Camila and 5H songs
Using 5H and Camila as your inspo? Oh it's bad for them

Would you move to a new town for a different dating pool?
Wealthy single straight New York men love them though. They're smart for moving here. Most single women I know in NY don't want children until their mid 30's or early 40's because they are focusing on their careers or growing their business. A lot of straight men don't want to wait that long.

YouTube is changing how it counts views to give the numbers a boost
The rest of the industry has defined views by the instant a video plays, so it makes complete sense to use the same definition. There are several other video view metrics, like 5 second views, 15 second views, 1 min views, and so on that creators and publishers have to track the duration of views per video.

Oprah addresses criticism for making two pro-Trump TV personalities famous
Oprah didn't have a crystal ball 25 years ago to know these men would become Trump supporters in 2026 (Trump was also a Democrat at the time). Idk if people criticizing her for this have functional brains.

Charli xcx - 'Music, Fashion, Film'
Most of the songs on Sucker aren't even bad, but Crash works much better as an album IMO. The highlights on Crash >>>>> Sucker (except timeless classic Need Ur Love). @OP No one cares that this flopped on the charts, this is basically what Charli has been doing for most of her career while simultaneously selling out every tour. The tour for this album is going to be insane, so even the simpletons that only like BRAT are going to leave shook.

Jason Arday friend confirms his disabilities and marathons were true
Unfortunately the claims against his experience and background had merit and Cambridge never actually cleared him of those allegations, at least not yet. There were severe issues with his resume and the stories he told in interviews that a prestigious institution like Cambridge should have caught as red flags. He likely knew he was going to be found out, but the way the press and that racist guy hounded him made it too much to handle. It should have been handled professionally and privately. The weirdest thing about this is the lack of firsthand accounts from students as to how he was as a professor. Regardless, RIP and I hope Nathan is somehow sued by the family.

Did the petal era get the biggest MPG backlash since ARTPOP?
Nothing will ever overshadow the negative press Gaga received during Artpop (or at least I hope no one else ever does). You know it's bad when you collab with R. K*lly and the public would rather drag you for "flopping" and getting fake vomitted on during a performance. Only the Witness to 143 timeline received a notable level of backlash (still not as bad as AP) which did end up killing her career. But unlike with AP, the discourse around these albums focused on real issues that were fair to critique IMO, just not to the extent that played out.

Zara Larsson: "Touring basically non-profit"
Is this true tho? I know some pop artists invested a lot into their early tours to build up a following, but that seems to be more of an exception rather than the rule. Caroline Polachek has very simple stage setups with no backup dancers, and she tours the world. I would find it hard to imagine that people like her barely profit from their tours and merch sales.

Pitchfork: Tyla is replacing Rihanna; Tyla retweets
If she was replacing Rihanna, she'd be getting Rihanna-level streams. I don't think that's happening anytime soon based on her current trajectory.

Turkish man divorces wife for skipping his mother’s funeral
Well yeah, she sounds annoying. Can't even put her own personal grudges aside to attend, that's beyond inexcusable.

Troye Sivan - "She's the Best"
It's not enshittification you dumb *****, just admit you don't like this style/genre of music and go. I don't understand why a few fans are having meltdowns in here over one song when a lot of us didn't even like his last album and decided to keep that to ourselves. Be happy he's exploring new sounds instead of recycling the same sound over and over again like other pop artists. You got to enjoy Rush and now I get to enjoy this.

Is "being old" a valid excuse for Madonna?
It performed poorly overall, but it's more impressive to me that a 67 year old pop artist made a legitimately great pop album that is better than most of the other 2026 releases by pop girls, most of which are literally 1/3 her age. Once artist pass 40, commercial success on charts and streaming services is more of an exception than the norm. These older artists may break touring records, but without the support of teenagers and young adults, their success will always be limited.
