So until like 10-12 years ago, it seemed like she had no peers since none of the artists close to her age were even half as successful as she was, and then everything's changed.

For example when Kylie and Mariah reached new career low in mid 10s they successfully changed teams, labels, completely rehabilitated their image, started playing the game the right way and found new success with nothing but positive comments online and from press.

Why can't Madonna do the same? Is it because it's been too long and she let the narrative of her being fad stick? She does feel more forgotten than ever. New generations either don't know her or don't know she was once upon a time not only the most successful female artist, but SOLO artist.

Is it because she is only surrounded by few yes men for decades that are feeding her ego and she is not even aware of her situation?

I mean not only she can't sell albums, or get hit singles, she's not doing well in streaming (only 8-10 songs above 100k on daily average), and her touring power decreased so much that her first ever GH tour ended up pulling Rebel Heart Tout numbers while everyone else is touring stadiums. Also let's add failed biopic to this topic, while everyone else seems to have a biopic.

Why do you expect from her new era in 2026?

More mistakes and fails or do you expect her to successfully rehabilitate her image and reputation, if so, what exactly do you expect from it because we know she won't be topping charts or winning awards? What's the threshold for Madonna's success in 2026?

So far there doesn't seem to be anyone at Warner taking care of her legacy, she doesn't have new team members, and based on recent 'rerelease' no one in her team knows what's doing. Her brand only got cheapened.

She does feel forgotten about lowkey. I think it's a combo of yes men and her being older and reassessing how much she wants to push her brand and legacy, especially after that health scare she had. Her GH tour ended not too long ago, COADF 2.0 just dropped, and it seems like 2026 will bring new music from her so I think she's fine lol

Madonna is still the most interesting, fascinating artist out of the three (and I love all three down).

With Kylie and Mariah, even with a new release, I know exactly what I'm getting. With Madonna, there is still boundary pushing and experimentation. She still remains the most fascinating (and greatest) artist in pop.

Appreciate her now and watch the disrespect , because I know you'll be the first with a 'OMG A Legend, The Greatest blah blah' if Madonna was ever to unexpectedly D word.

Well one, Madonna was around for a decade longer. She was bigger than them in the 00s by a lot, despite that being her third decade while it was only their second decades. Same applies for the 10s.

Her team also is just horrible at handling her legacy, it's crazy. This is the most legendary female artist of all time, and yet they don't do sh**. I was surprised two years ago when they didn't do anything for her first albums 40th anniversary. There was even a little bit of buzz, because it entered the US Apple Music Charts. But no reissue, no remastered version, no vinyl repressing, nothing. Then, I for sure thought they were planning something last year with the 40th anniversary edition of Like a Virgin, and that anniversary made even LESS noise. Her team is honestly the pits, on top of her not caring.

Kylie had more #1 albums in last 7 years than Madonna in the last 25 years.

Kylie just scored #1 single 2 years after scoring top 10 single. Last time Madonna had #1/top 10 single were in 2008/2009.

They sold like 3 copies in the UK. Nobody knows her in the US the main music market.

It did?!! Can you point me to her comeback album?! I haven't heard it yet!

OT: Kinda, but her time is coming. This new era could be a minor comeback for her (I'm hoping for great things), and honestly, anyone who dismisses her truly doesn't understand her career or what she's brought to the table. There never will be the proper appreciation for her touring trailblazing given every single pop girl follows her blueprint now, but the Confessions Tour really was so revolutionary at the time.

I guess it depends on how COADF 2 performs. Personally I don't like the idea of Madonna revisiting that disco sound since she did that already and she used to boast that she didn't like repeating herself, but maybe she'll get a hit from that

(1) Madonna is a legend among legends and that cannot be taken away
(2) I think Madonna has done a rather poor job protecting her legacy.

Yeah pretty much this. Older generations care about her because she was their du jour female popstar, but the young generations couldn't care less about her music despite them streaming her peers and even older artists.
