I do think she should have higher 'demands' for an artists of her calliber, like put some respect to her name. She kinda did it with the music part on MAYHEM, claiming her sound and stuff. But I feel like she needs to claim her space in the industry. Being too humble allows people to look over you. This woman has won a freaking Oscar. And shes probably more likely to win another Song Oscar before a GF Grammy, hell after today even a acting Oscar feels more likely.

I don't think so, especially because neither Bad Bunny nor Kendrick campaigned this time around and several publications mentioned that she was overdue for a GF win.

this is NOT shade even if it might sound like it:

the performance's visuals thrive in stills. I'm seeing so many shots on Twitter that literally made me gasp. The fire, the smoke, the outfit, her expressions, the sharp villanous poses, the tech in the shadows, the framing… it's really freaking cool.

I think some of the camera movement on the broadcast was a bit jarring on first view, but the more I'm taking it in I'm obsessed. I do think they should've done some wide shots from a far, seeing the performance from the audience view is sick, but I see why they didn't do that to break the illusion

Gaga is extremely respected by her peers in the academy, and her 16 Grammys wins are proof of that. Especially her wins in her own genre categories.

The problem lies with the how the academy voters as a whole feel towards her. She has big support from the pop/dance/traditional pop sector, but not across the board to support her in the general field. The overdue narrative will only grow from here, and it will also be important that people know about her not having a general field win in the future when it's time for voting.

If she can connect with voters across the board with an album and era in addition to the overdue narrative, she'll win. I don't think she'll win a general field until she has more support and respect from outside her genre-sphere of voters.

I will say AOTY is completely out of the question for her (tho she has proved me wrong b4) but ROTY/SOTY win is not imo. She clearly going full family mode next year so promoting her music will be harder.

Anyways, I'm not in the mood to argue with fellow liddos about this, but don't be surprised when LG8 leans into that style of performance over traditional dance pop choreo. Don't act shocked when she promotes her next album and does a mini-tour or something and she goes in that direction for its visuals as opposed to Mayhem 2.0. It's very clear she's teasing something in that vein. And I wouldn't be surprised if that next electronic project becomes her most acclaimed yet.

This is unrelated to the GRAMMYs, but I agree that it's somewhat odd how Gaga's speeches have almost went in reverse through her career. From "cool kids at the party" in 2010 VMAs to acting completely shocked that anyone knows her name in 2026.

Addison wasn't TERRIBLE (I fear) and I was sorta there for her until the top came off.

After her wins tonight. Her biggest supporters are definitely the POP/Dance bloc.

Urban + Rap and Latam Music voters are her biggest opposition. I also think that these are the biggest voting bodies.

She needs a massive coalition to win AOTY and SOTY. She needs to court the Rock, Country, Adult Contemporary blocs.

It's not my favorite performance, but it's incredibly unique and one of the more innovative and daring performances of her career. She really committed to the execution and it felt very unexpected which is cool for someone who has had sooooo many live performances

I woke up early (not even on purpose) just in time to see her lose aoty. No wins in the GF is a snub. Gaga has had big hit projects, she's had acclaimed projects, she's had projects that are literally grammy bait and she never wins in the GF. I really think it is because she's just too camp for a lot of the voters. Bunny deserves aoty but so did Gaga and she probably lost because of people voting for Sabrina's boring album.

They didn't give her roty or soty and instead just awarded the same artists they always do in those categories. Idk if she'll have a better shot at the GF than Mayhem any time soon if ever and even if she does she'll probably get snubbed again.
