Ariana Grande - "hate that i made you love me"
Oh that global drop actually is quite good for a Sunday no?

Spotify | hate that i made you love me | Day 14: #1 WW (6.19M), #2 US (1.67M)
As a super fan who usually listens to her new singles 100+ times first week, I've barely revisited this song so I'm not surprised, but still want it to succeed. I do see the GP clinging on to it and saving it, it just needs to get on their radar and the music video could do that. These numbers aren't bad, the drop is normal, but it could very easily go left or right, Monday/Tuesday numbers will be much more defining

Ariana Grande - "hate that i made you love me"
The ending is amazing, and the "I-I" is the highlight. Sounds amazing. Her voice has so much range… what a talent!

Ariana Grande - "hate that i made you love me"
i This is at the center of my initial disappoint in the track… it's far from bad, it's definitely solid, but it sounds much, much safer production, lyric and melody wise than the description hyped up. BUT, with her switched up vocal delivery and elements of the song I do sense that the album tracks will go harder and this is just the more radio friendly single type… idk.

Ariana Grande - "hate that i made you love me"
Positive: LOVE and respect that she switched up her vocal delivery and tone so dramatically. Sounds incredibly fresh from her and I like the direction of this album and can't wait to hear more. Also, I could see it SMASHING. Her most radio and streaming friendly lead since TUN, and maybe more so than TUN. So probably a good pick for a lead. Negative: … with that said, the chorus is a bit of a snooze. The melody and lyrics are kinda boring and the hook is a bit low energy. Dont hate I'm a huge fan :( it might grow on me especially since it is so different from her previous work. Still a net positive, I like the style and direction this is going in, but this song in particular didn't really land hard for me on first listen

Love that we have practically nothing to work with and it hasn't leaked

Positions No Tears Left to Cry Thank U, Next Dangerous Woman The Way Yes, And? Problem Yes and was such a bait, ES being her best album despite it

Lady Gaga
Having requiem follow runway hits hard too. The devil wears Prada tracks aren't bad, but they definitely felt like Gaga on autopilot. Requiem on the other hand is such a fresh and unique twist in her creative output. You can just feel the passion. Ah. I can't praise it enough. Again runway feels like Gaga doing a corporate Gaga deal, where requiem feels like something she'd make even if no one knew who she was, just feels SOOOO "her" even though we haven't had anything quite like it from her…

Requiem is kinda the coolest, unexpected, and freshest thing I've seen from a mainstream pop act in a while I'm amazed after three watches now. It's so well executed. It's also like, very daring imo. On the surface it doesn't seem that commercial or that there would be a big audience for it, so the fact that she put so much effort into it… it just feels so authentic to her artistic spirit, it reminds me of how she was during BTW. Felt very free

I hope she releases a Shape of a Woman music video that's basically the movie scene but repurposed to fit the theme of a music video with maybe a few new scenes sprinkled in the production is FIRE!!! I want her to work with the Mayhem producers for at least another album

Lady Gaga
Shape of a Woman sounds bad and amazing at the same time to me Some parts hit so hard, like the instrumental, I like the verses and post chorus a lot, but then some parts are kinda giving fan generated gaga song It's at least fun and kinda interesting to me, DEFINITELY gives "cut from mayhem" (both in all the good and bad ways) (good in the fact that mayhem is maybe her best album, bad in the fact that I see why it didn't make the tracklist). I'd give it like a 7.5 with room to grow
