i don't even like Miley (and i've dragged her feature on II Most Tolerated often enough to prove it), but pretending she's going rock because of Bey is almost as stupid as when some people said she was copying Joanne in 2017

she's been in that lane several times before, and so has the lady who married that walking CTE. almost as goofy as when people tried to claim Cowboy Cosplay made denim popular

obviously this isn't to say Bey doesn't have cultural influence (moments stemming from Rennie have much stronger claims if we just keep it to this decade), but we have to use some neurons before attributing everything to her impact

The fact title track "Something Beautiful" was rumored to have been in the running for Act III should tell us all we need to know: Miley Cyrus has been working towards this direction for a long time. I don't think this is a Drake x Renaissance submission situation where Miley submitted something and then made an entire album first once she had a hint of Beyonce's direction/sound to be seen as the front-runner (looking at you, Honestly, Nevermind).

she even had that rockier album with the Dua Lipa collab (and looking at the tracklist there's even Joan Jett and Stevie Nicks collabs + the Heart of Glass cover she screamed through that slack-holed bottoms were fake gagging over)

and i've been able to piece this together just from being on forums like this and popheads, not actually listening to her so like... we have to be a little more realistic!

Taylor though…an electric guitar and pyrotechnics a rock song does not make. I wouldn't say she copying anyone just yet because I haven't heard about whatever you all are referencing but I can't think of a single rock song of hers.
