Just said Miley went back to a rock aesthetic (which NO, she didn't have for Something Beautiful) and some of you got so riled up and read it as "Miley is copying Beyoncé!!1!1".

And yes, this popstars are all narcissistic and always want to be ahead of the curve. If something is gonna be read as a trend they all rather be trendsetters to trend followers. And that includes Beyoncé. No one is copying anyone, but we all know where the industry is headed next.

taylor could easily pivot to soft alternative-rock (a la Coldplay circa 2010) and it would probably be a much better fit for her than whatever that showgirl album was...

but that's the thing. all of these artists could well pivot to a rock-ish sound, but Bey's trilogy projects are expansive takes on all sides of the genre. Insider goss already says it could have elements of funk, rock n roll, screamo, psychadelic and punk. no one else will be making a project tying the entirety of the rock genre to its black lineage. so whatever other artists are up to, it doesn't really impact Bey's thesis or ability to execute.

I do think Something Beautiful had glam rock visuals tho tbf - but I do agree that Bey is a trendsetter!

Rock's resurgence was very predictable on many levels but also geopolitical and socioeconomic state of the world.

I'm really perplexed at people getting their hopes up over this reissue, and connecting it to the trilogy as if B is laying clues like the Da Vinci code. That's is not the type of artist she is, she never has been and never will be. Give it up. These theories are total and utter madness.

On Friday we will be listening to an album we've heard a thousand times. That should be your expectation.

My thoughts exactly. When she didn't submit The Renaissance film to Best Music Film at the Grammys... that's when I knew this really affected her and the AMC relationship was on ice. Wouldn't even be surprised if they settled with her out of court for breaching contract/NDA. Her team had to work much faster editing than initially planned, which is why I feel we never got one of those crisp edited montages for her runway walk to "Energy" in all of her outfits, as well as a fleshed out "Pure / Honey" ballroom section with interviews.

I also have a feeling AMC planned to put their campaign money behind Taylor Swift's campaign, and when Beyonce didn't even submit, Taylor's team using their usual "Great White Hope" PR / marketing push against Beyonce (as her team previously tried to do with the shoddy tour books, the tours themselves, the Disney+ exclusive tour home, etc.) fell apart and Taylor's film didn't even make it to the Grammy nominations stage.

In Taylor's perfect world, nominations for both would have come out, and I swear that day Variety would've released a planted story exclusive of Taylor giving hundreds of thousands to her tour staff / dancers.

You're right... but let them have it. In a world where you could strategize and connect the past, present, and future of your career in a planned, decade-long multiverse-esque project, I would also use the project and resulting plotline to prop up the lowest-selling album in that early run and the fore-runner to a visual album (B'Day). Not a far-fetched idea... but getting used to the bare minimum and being surprised is something most of us seasoned vets have learned to practice. Let them be optimistic.

Got invited to one of the official listening Parties . Im just confused how this correlation with the 3 acts etc because i thought it was purely " ACT " era thing . Either way happy to celebrate her work !

I'd rather have the CCT film than RWT in the cinemas.

RWT should've been on streaming with a live album years ago. Returning to the cinemas won't be necessarily enjoyable, I'd just feel bad that I won't be able to watch it again.
