"NEW YORK, July 24 (UPI) -- Fans of Beyonce Knowles are flocking to the Internet to sign a petition demanding a reshoot of her new video, "Deja Vu."

A petition addressed to the superstar's label, Columbia Records, has 2,000 signatures so far, MTV.com reported Monday.

"This video is an underwhelming representation of the talent and quality of previous music-video projects of Ms. Knowles'," the petition says.

The petition claims the video lacks a theme, is poorly edited and also objects to the star's wardrobe, MTV.com said.

Also criticized are the so-called "unacceptable interactions" between the singer/actress and her boyfriend, Jay-Z. The petition also rejects the way Knowles shakes her groove thing in "Deja Vu," calling her moves "erratic, confusing and alarming at times."

Not "unacceptable interactions" lmao. The way this video had the 2006 Hive SHOOK. No wonder Bey didn't do anything more explicit until ST, y'all weren't ready

Honestly, for the time, the video was polarizing, but the hive was a bit ridiculous lol

So which Bday song has the most potential to do some damage after the anniversary drop?

My vote goes to Kitty Kat, then Freakum Dress and lastly Upgrade You

Morning Dew should be the best performing due to the existing virality, remixes and airplay.

Can I Watch You is probably going to get playlisted as a new single on New Music Friday playlists as it's the only new track from the album, unless one of the three bonus tracks (Creole, Lost Yo Mind, Back Up) can be considered new and get the spotlight.

From the existing tracks, I can see Irreplaceable, Beautiful Liar, Deja Vu, Freakum Dress, and Get Me Bodied doing the best. The first three perform well on streaming as is, Freakum Dress is a fan favourite that has been teased on tour and that vinyl pressing video, and Get Me Bodied will have three versions on the re-release which will boost its streaming when combined.

Yes, doing too much over nothing and it still remains one of her best videos from the early solo era. But well... maybe the Hive didn't change that much since then lmao

i remember this too!

i've always loved this video but i very much remember people thinking she was turning into a "hoochie" outside of DC because she was starting to explore her sexuality. the standards young women were held to in those times were insane.

back then when u marketed urself as a good little christian girl it caused outrage to even hint at being sexual at all (see: Britney's radio blacklisting, Janet's blacklisting, etc) so when bey started to explore those themes the girls got HEATED. she was always the "classy" girl at the time that was sensual without being raunchy. she rarely ever cursed in her music. and i think her leaning into being a little more bold and grown really shook the girls up.

if she had served partition at that age (like britney did with slave 4 u or xtina with dirrty) phew the hive might've keri hilsoned her themselves

Why did I pop in my mixtape of unreleased Beyonce music from high school only to realize that girl hootin' and hollerin' on Catch A Case was in fact not Yonka, I knew it wasn't her but back then I was convinced for some reason

I work in the entertainment industry so have a few conections here and there . Ill report back for sure

The energy she placed in the music video matches the energy of the song.

Such an iconic moment in her discography.

So mad this isn't on streaming. Maybe for the DIL 25th.

She better celebrate DIL's 25th anniversary...

Too much of an iconic debut to ignore.

Hoping that Can I Watch You is a cunty uptempo (even though the name screams nasty slow jam)

In a couple hours we'll know if it's a local release (like usual) or a global release in US time.

twitter hive are being a little delusional as per. I've seen people saying this could pull renaissance streaming numbers because of the track count and others already talking about a number 1.

there are way too many variables at play. A cute top 10 would be a great result.

it's her first real foray into an anniversary rerelease so we have nothing to compare it to. My guess would be closer to homecomings numbers.

only the standard vinyl is shipping first week and the inventory obviously won't be anything like her main studio albums.

we also don't know what this project is yet. Is it simply old repackaged material in the same sound quality? Remastered? New versions? Or something more typical of a Beyoncé surprise.

The whole thing is also weirdly timed.. why B'Day? Why now? Why does it line up perfectly with Jays show? Parkwoods campaign is surprisingly clearly working as bday just had its highest streaming day ever and the handling of Donk has been suspiciously good. Remixes, letting radio build in time for the release week.

it all feels a little too coordinated for a simple anniversary rerelease but I've been doing this long enough to get my hopes up.

This convo reminds of that one time i was playing with a Britney/Xtincta fan online saying Beyoncé wasn't a puta like they but then he pointed out how Sean Paul is laying down in the middle of a lot of "naked" women in the Baby Boy video and i was like "oop!"

But really it's hysterical that people had a problem with this, that's the Naughty Gurl chanteuse, she's been teasing since the day one (raunchy or not, that depends on the observer like that Baby Boy video comment)
