100%. In another world, "Stop Sign" ended up being the duet she promised to BC Jean all those years ago to smooth over things from the whole "If I Were A Boy" debacle (or a trio with Kacey Musgraves / Mickey Guyton) and showed up as the CC bonus track she promised us for buying the CC physical editions from her website.

(Sidebar: Yikes... between BC Jean and Alexandra Burke, B is 0/2 in following through on duets with artists unknown to America she spoke about in press releases.)

She's smart for this, and I was actually thinking yesterday that I'm glad that act iii didn't come in May, because we likely wouldn't have had anything new since anyway, at this point we'd just be waiting for a tour announcement in six months, maybe we'd have a lead single remix released June 1, but all that would have been so "on schedule" that it also would have not been as exciting as if she withheld the anticipated final act a bit more. It deserves that.

I know because the first two we thought we saw a pattern, but three makes a pattern, not too, and I think it's a bit short-sighted to think she'd be releasing at the time everyone thinks she's going to... this is Beyoncé.

The only significant thing about the song release is today is the 4th, and the song length is 4:04 and her favorite number is 4.

Because I'm personally not too satiated or excited over this release, my mind is more thinking about these types of 'strategic' theories.

- I fear it is mainly suggesting that we aren't getting anything for a while, maybe December the earliest. And so they have decided to fill the void for fans with this re-release. This suggests that there are really unexpected delays in terms of the project reaching a point where B is happy.

- This could be misdirection as well, showing us something else that is coming (a countdown? really? When is the last time we had it?) would make everyone put their guards down. It is closer to what you said in terms of making things unexpected. But I fear this is the Delulu in me

I don't think we are getting anything this year for sure. If we are to believe the 29th thing is a pattern, then that places us at January. I don't think this necessarily means the wait is due to some unexpected change though, it could really just be that she knows the power of hype and building it through not giving the things people expect. It's what made ST so succesful not just commercially but in a cultural way.

The SirDavis signed Lemonade giveaway winner is announced September 10, for what it's worth, so they're obviously planning for September to be special, even if it is only tied around The B'Day re-release.

if this is part of a master plan and not just "I love that album lemme do something", it's really smart because it's getting her profile out there (like the Met Gala) but also withholding the one thing people are curious about (her new album). It's promo without being promotional, because she's not promoting anything but her own brand.

The only theory (someone already mentioned) since its her bday the new reissue is about her career and she's releasing songs from each ear into the mix?

It's not, it was written on the press release.

I really hope she remastered B'Day, but knowing her, it might just be the original masters with the songs she scattered around versions all in one package. Maybe a new cover.

I'll stay hopeful, though.

As silly as it is to say something is categorically false when you didn't even consult all the info, it is still confusing because even if you didn't know there was a press release, it's easy to be confident that it's not related to a B'Day re-issue since the song is not from B'Day.
