I'm still a little nervous that the visuals were conceptualized around being trapped at home. People do not want to revisit that time now -- most shows, movies, and music generally ignore that it ever happened for a reason.

I mean, it's the main reason the project became what it is. If she could've toured, she would've released an even more political version of Beyincé and that's it.

And Beyoncé is not the type of popstar that leans into fiction nowadays. If she wants to represent an escapist vision/utopic world, she will include the part in which someone is having those visions to land it in reality.

We read with Lemonade she got other directors in to change things, so if she didn't like Ren, she would've done the same. You also wouldn't be pitching it to streamers if you actually didn't like it. I am sticking with she didn't like the deal offered and her stubborn ass would rather lock it up than do something with it.

It was said she had to give up rights and we know Bey don't do that.

I'm a Nadia defender but I'd like to publicly say that I didn't really like the I'm That Girl teaser very much )

It was so small-scale, and I understand the caged-at-home bent they were going for circa. pandemic season but it just doesn't really feel inspiring for a song so bold and futuristic.

Nadia's ITG video feels like the original Bigger video - a bit blegh on arrival, hopefully later replaced by something more sweeping down the line

oooh. Thank you, cuz I lowkey agree. I wasn't the biggest fan of the trailer either. Now I'm not being negative about it, cuz if it was created with a purposeful vibe and aesthetic, I trust B to deliver on the visuals. So I've never said much about it. And with Renaissance being a full 1-hour playlist and a night out party, I assume she was going for another film anyway.

But who cares, it's all scrapped.

I'm not too scared of the trapped-at-home concept, but yes, it doesn't work for the other acts. It can work for Renaissance, as an escape to the dance floor, especially honouring its 'roots', it could've had an 'underground' and somewhat sweaty vibe.

If she's adamant about doing films, what I really hope for is a fun, expansive concept - her own universe, per se. The Cowboys vs Aliens theory was so fun. The underground dance floor, serving as an escape into the galaxy, sounds fun and visually appealing, too. Either way, my hope has just been that it is an actual concept and not something too abstract and artsy - then just do music videos tbh, we don't want BIK rehash. Or at least I don't. (I like BIK).

I'm sure that's one of the main reasons the visuals are still put ad acta. The timely matter fit at the time and for Renaissance, but for that act only. To visualize an interconnected trilogy, all with different „genres" and backgrounds over the course of half a decade is one hell of a task, now with the socio-political factors we faced the last 6+ years added to this it's no wonder they seem lost from the outside.

I'm so curious about where her mind is at. Like... hmmm. Does she visually want to tell one larger story? Is it going to be act-specific? Is it just not coming cuz she decided she's gonna save the visuals for the album after the trilogy? CC is political but not really all the way, it has its escapism into the country western like Renaissance has its on the dance floor. And if Act-iii is rock, it has to be political and culturally very sharp and prudent. And the times are too volatile to really nail this.

No idea what she has in mind for the trilogy as a whole beyond reclaiming genres. And that too, CC had plenty of rock on it.

( Watch one of the other Girls use Nadia now and Nadia reposting " Working with the QUEEN etc "....they always do that in spite of B .... )

On a serious note i do understand B changing he rmind etc , Artists outgrow Art sometimes they loved or created even in the matter of 6 months so who knows i think all yall theories are someone "right" / possible

Also, thank god for the person blue blue I know it was you angel that got Beyoncé to scrap the idea of naming her album Beyincé.... talk about a disaster... I still laugh thinking about it.

Act- I Renaissance
Act- II Beyincé

It was said she had to give up rights and we know Bey don't do that.

I mean... it's been rumoured that that actually happened:

Melina Matsoukas did film things for Cowboy Carter included in the "Trailer" interlude, which we know include things filmed with Nadia. And Beyoncé knew we would eventually know the interlude was called trailer.

It already looks like her most expensive visual and if she ever tried to actually pitch it to streamers is because she likes it. She's not just gonna scrap it because Netflix said "no", she'd find a way.

Also made out with a Couple for the first time ever "Throuple" kiss or what you call that ....and i couldnt help but think wow maybe thats the conclusion of the 3 Acts after all / Is about ....

" You are the visuals baby "

Chile I just heard Delresto for the first time in a while on my AM radio and I really do not care for it. I like it when she gets experimental, but not too much you know? I never cared for anything too experimental to begin with (ie Bjork or FKA type stuff) but like? leave it to the artists that aren't star rated vocalist to play around like that. When it's Bey, it just feels like a vocal tease that leads no where. Haunted is the extent of what I like to see her do. Something sexy, sultry and dark. Alien Superstar too. My House is good too. She pulls off aggressive vibes really well. Delresto just feels random and oddly constructed.

Interesting. 3 hours is a lot

Who filmed CC tour visuals? They looked good.

it being a genuinely terrible album name aside, just from a marketing and promotion pov this would've been a disaster and i can't believe she seriously entertained that nonsense rip

imagine having 2 albums with basically the same title lmao people would try to search it up on google and would just get selftitled instead. the amount of people who'd skip the album simply because they think it's a kind of sequel or reissue

azealia

in regards to the trailer, I really really hate the new trend of muting colors, like every scene is washed out when Renaissance should be vibrant with color (and the washed out coloring was making her look old). For example:

This looks like raw footage with no post-production on it at all.

100%, in fact my mind mostly was tripping on the marketing disaster only... how did it reach to the point of pressing is insane. Also... the cover, does it mean the trilogy didn't really have the theme of a horse? Its so messy

visuals may have changed, but I'm sure they're not totally scrapped

Thinking of Confessions Part 2.. the acts kinda serve as a high art IA..SF Part 2, but executed much better

The Wife/Mother: Cowboy Carter. "Sasha Fierce" = Renaissance

The loop the sample interlude is basically this but with a budget higher than $20

Yeah I think beyond there being 3 acts and tours, not much of this trilogy was either locked in ahead of time or confirmed. The fact that she was shooting Break My Soul visuals in Brooklyn (1 month before I moved to that very block rip) the week of album release is crazy and shows that she was playing a lot by ear. Which is why she never really confirms anything until its out.

BEYINCE as an album title is annoying because it's literally pronounced BEYONCE and she already has a self-titled album... We did hear rumors of her having multi colored vinyl variants all the way back in Q4 2021/Q1 2022 but some of the vocals which were confirmed as late as early Feb 2024 made it onto the vinyl but somehow they couldn't change the BEYINCE artwork/materials when they likely knew at least since Oct. 2023 they'd be pivoting to Cowboy Carter. But then 4 songs are missing from the BEYINCE vinyl... It's all very confusing.

Aside from everything I want to pray over Beyonce because she's been through a lot we don't know or ever hear her speak about.

I know a lot of folks have thoughts on the reduction of dancing or the visuals but she's still giving as a lot.

In 2019 her dad was diagnosed with breast cancer, and in 2024 Ms. Tina was diagnosed with it. I pray thats not something she or Solange ever encounters. We take so much of the art and joy our faves put into the world. I think a lot of us never consider that possibility because we don't see Beyonce partying or doing drugs so the likelihood of something happening to her feels far off.

Look at Frank Ocean, he lost his brother and has been unable to release music or produce on the level he likely could've. Think of all the music we liekly missed out from the last 10 years.

In all thank you Beyonce because your music has brought me so much joy and I literally have a career in music because of the self titled drop and moments like that throughout her career.

cowboy carter co-writer ryan beatty released his country/americana album this week and it's very good. way better than his previous work. the beyonce effect strikes again.

i wonder which, if any songs from this album were submitted for CC. especially knowing miley used one of her submissions on her album too.

the opening track phantom is gorgeous:

i can definitely hear beyonce singing this one:

His album is phenomenal and I immediately thought of how smooth Phantom and Fleur De Lis would sound with Bey.

I know that she's our Queen, a Legend etc etc but no compagny waits 4 years to close the "perfect deal"....something went obviously wrong behind the scene. But I'm sure she's doing everything to create a masterpiece so I'm okay with it.

this looks cvnty and fierce as hell

no amount of me being annoyed at the delay/possible cancellation of the visuals will ever get me to stop gagging at this teaser, and that's what makes it painful imo

sorry
