Is Beyonce going to reheat Katy's nachos and announce the album at the Met Gala? like Kathryn did with Witness.mp3.

the last thing anyone in here wants is for her to reheat anything Katy related suburban

Hmm I just think she could release literally any other weekend and the hive is holding on to the 29th because of a baseless theory. Who cares if act i and act ii were released on a 29th? She's not Taylor Swift, she doesn't play with numbers like that.

im not necessarily suggesting she will definitely release on the 29th, but i also think it's logical to think she will considering there's no evidence to suggest she wont.

the 29th theory, whether it's right or wrong, does have a basis in fact. The base being that both of her previous releases in this trilogy came out on the 29th of their respective months. and backing this theory up, we know bey is doing a public appearance at the met gala in may, aligning nicely with the only Friday-the-29th of 2026.

also she does play with numbers, she literally called her daughter 4, her album 4, has the number 4 tattooed, and modelled her house after the number 4.

AND we know she is playing with patterns across this trilogy. covers on a horse against a black backdrop, albums themed on specific genres and spaces, an album-tour-album-tour-album-tour yearly pattern, etc etc

Throwing a wildcard option out there:

What if sis has indeed recorded a project with Jay, but it's scheduled for AFTER Act III?

We know she banks material and releases at convenience (see: the entire trilogy), so surely the tea in that tweet could easily refer to recording sessions for it…just with the wrong context?

Because I just don't see her being that wild to make Act III a Jay collab project that no one asked for nor wants. It would undermine everything about the trilogy. A falling at the final hurdle tea.

Conjecture on my part, but I could moreso see the following:

  • Jay does the festival circuit this year to get back into the mix. Everyone is talking new album, but seems they are moreso pushing Reasonable Doubt's 30th Anniversary. So, nostalgia at least for now, maybe as a warm up.

  • Bey drops Act III at some point from May onwards. It's solo and continues the reclaiming genres motif.

  • If jay has a song on Act III and it's out on May 29 or before, a pop up performance during his set is actually great cross-promotion. And eliminates the whole "overshadow" thing.

IMO, if the above plays out, it's 2027 that would actually be most interesting on the The Carters front. Because:

  • Touring is where I could see her caving to the "power couple" schtick again. I could see her sacrificing a 2027 solo tour for Act III in the name of another joint run with Jay. Like OTRI, it wouldn't be centered on a joint project, but lean into their individual material and expanding musical collabs.

It would be annoying af, but definitely more digestible than a joint album. The irony being, I don't even think a joint album would be bad, but we just don't want it.

    I digress…

  • 2027 is also interesting in that IF another Jay project is indeed on the cards, she would have a respectable amount of distance from Act III to drop another…something. Album, EP, mixtape in 2027. She could close out the trilogy neatly this year and while another project so soon isn't typical Beyonce behavior, there's a world where it could…work.

  • Lastly lol, could also see a 2027 that sees Bey tour solo. Normal stadium run and some kind of residency with Jay very close by or even simultaneously.

Marketing is everything and there's a world where they can have their cake and eat it too. And make even more $$$.

I've always wanted bey to play with this concept. Literally be on a major stadium tour and do spot dates at intimate venues with some kind of marketing twist to justify (e.g acoustic material or, in this case, something with Jay). It's pretty ambitious and innovative, which is her whole mantra.

Ultimately, the masses want solo a Beyonce stadium tour, The Carters want coin and to be together on the road even if it means going against the grain. Marketing and positioning is what would/could make that work. Bey will inevitably be the stadium draw, but leaning into scarcity marketing side of things, a limited residency with Jay either at the same time or after would inevitably sell too. a) it's still "Beyonce", b) Jay has fans too, and c) won't have the sales pressure given smaller venues. It would be positioned as boutique and high art, with probably a crazy ticket prices. Audience comprised of die hards, who won't mind spending on Bey again, and travelling GP like is almost always the case for Vegas residencies.

Must say that I really don't want any Jay anything outside of the odd colllab track here and there. I like him/them, but they need to read the room. Realistically, though, I think we should brace for a something. Like others have smartly pointed out, he still has his Live Nation deal, clearly has a musical itch to scratch (I really thought he had quiet-retired). Again, I like Jay, but in studying his moves, a lot of his career, especially the latter has seen him smartly leverage his connections for hits and tours (Bey, Rih, Kanye, Coldplay, Linkin Park). So, even if there's no outright joint project on the horizon, I think we should anticipate some kind of Jay/Bey…something.

That ends my TED talk lmao.

Let's keep entertaining this idea - the trilogy is clearly about genre reclaimation. Which genre would a joint album be reclaiming? In what world does a joint project tie remotely into the thesis of this record? What would the cover be? Bey and Jay on the back of a horse? The whole thing is nonsense.

If I'm gonna be even more analytical, the Renaissance cover and the Cowboy Carter cover are both lined up perfectly so that Beyonce's face is in the exact same place on the cover, and is the exact same size. This is so that you can flick between the two and mirror the effect of the Im that girl teaser. A joint project would probably mess up that alignment, cos Jay-Z wouldn't accept being completely off centre in a project they're doing as equals. It's just not gonna happen.

The possibility that it's a Speakerboxxx/The Love Below situation can't be entirely ruled out.

Originally conceived as standalone albums, the members' solo efforts were integrated into a double album under Outkast's name... André 3000's The Love Below largely departs from hip-hop in favor of pop, funk, jazz, psychedelia, and progressive soul styles, drawing inspiration from Prince.

That's the only way I could see it being a joint album, in the sense that it's not really a joint album at all.

ALL OF THESE OPTIONS ARE BAD

EIL was a career low point. Commercially, creatively. I don't mind the odd Jay verse. LOVELY for a throwback but she's leagues ahead of him creatively and anything they do together dulls her brilliance

She really did, I wish she had included Roc instead of Poison on the IASF re-release

Oh Poison is one of my favourite "bad" Beyoncé songs*. There's something about its texture I just love. So I'd say "along with" not
instead of" Poison lol.

*Another one in this category is Beautiful Liar. I think it's inherently a "bad" song, as in, it's cheesy, the instrumental is kitschy and almost lo-fi, but somehow it rises to guilty pleasure so easily, there's a joy in knowing the song isn't a masterpiece, that I'd a capital P "pop song", and it makes it so fun to listen to.

I don't think it was a career low-point at all. It was a great way to wrap up the Lemonade storyline without making a huge deal about it, and I think when you look at it as a summer mixtape over an era, it makes more sense and is more creatively impressive.

I'm not saying to lower expectations in order to like it, necessarily, but since they recorded it while rehearsals for the tour it was meant to compliment and that they didn't promote it beyond that, judging it as if it were meant to be a creative high is a little unfair. It's crisp, concise, fun, silly, serious, and the last song is a perfect final word on the Lemoande-444 themes and in total makes for an interesting musical trilogy, the likes of which haven't been done before (I don't think): two albums on the same topic, a third album together.

Also I agree Beyoncé is ahead of Jay in both creativity and commerciality, but it's not as if his not a brilliant artist and lyricist in his own right. There's a reason he has contributions on her last two albums.

That said, no I don't want another collab album and don't think she'd do that again.

The way I wouldn't be mad at the concept, but just not...now.

TBH, they missed a real window with the Mrs/Mr Carter project of this ilk around ST/OTR1.

Now, great as the concept could still be, it just wouldn't hit the same.

Iono if it was a career low in terms of quality. It definitely was them NOT reading the room of what people wanted (e.g. GP probably would have gone up for more uptempos ala DIL, Crazy in Love, Apesh*t). So while the mellower vibe wasn't the move, the music itself wasn't...bad.

IMO, the real faux pas was the...everything else. The attempt at another surprise drop, the Tidal chaos, the hard-to-discover artist names on Spotify and Apple, when it finally went wide. I'll always see this as one of the weirdest frames in her career. Between this and The Gift (which I love), it was crystal clear that she was trying to find her footing in a new musical climate. They also got humbled with thinking the surprise hype/no promo trick will always work. On all fronts, from A&Ring, aesthetic, strategy, platform exclusivity, they just missed the mark. Didn't make the music itself bad, but definitely informed its poor performance.

I think we sometimes, as stans, conflate flopping or other bad decisions around promo etc with the material being bad, when that's not always the case.

The critics actually don't agree though.

It has an 80 on metacritic. That's not her lowest critical reception, not even close.

Whether someone wants something from her or not isn't exactly the indicator of worth. No one really wanted a country album from Beyoncé, and from the public's perspective the album also had not great longevity, that shouldn't be a factor on deciding if it was or wasn't a good album.

EIL lashings!!!!

I used to pray for times like this?!

WE DO NOT want anymore JOINT SONGS, MIXTAPES, TOURS or ALBUMS.

This is a a Beyonce only club thank you very much.
