The fact that The Met Gala couldnt at least come up with the theme ARTificial Intelligence or sth akin to that. Give us some sort of actual theme. And of course its Beys year its so damn uninspiring

Maybe they decided to give Bey a wide berth because we all know if the theme was Technology in Fashion or whatever the ****, she was not going to show up with a crt screen as a hat like certain others. Beyonce will always do sexy high fashion no matter the theme.

I mean, CUFF IT and HEATED are prob the bottom two on the album for me (still great songs!) because they're the most basic: the former coming off the post-Say So disco-pop trend (though not at all sounding like an imitation) and the latter sound too much like a Drake song imo until the iconic ending takes it to another amazing level.

Anyway, I feel HEATED never really gets the criticism it deserves because of the fondness people have for its ending but without it, it would be rather a bland track. Still, both are amazing songs and work in the album, it's just compared to tracks like I'M THAT GIRL or ALIEN SUPERSTAR or ALL UP IN YOUR MIND (I could continue) they have less individuality.

They basically did that in 2016 with the "Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology" theme.

I don't have an issue with the MET Gala theme. It's an interesting, if broad, jumping off point. It's better than just "American Designers" or whatever we had for two years in a row. And seeing fashion as an art form (something that can make you feel emotion, show immense skill, shock you, convey a message, or all of the above) is an interesting enough angle for examining clothing.

yeah my issue is rarely the theme, but the way these designers and sponsors interpret it is where things tend to disappoint. there's a lot of potential for greatness, so we'll just have to wait and see (which has been the motto with her the last like 13 years I guess)

No this is perfect. She feels the most confident in GLAM and when she can serve body, this allows her to do that. She hates a theme.
