I used it a lot back in the day but it's a no-brainer that she went on to release her very best material afterwards so it shouldn't really surprise us

Dated and played out. Millenials are aging out.

I never liked the song. Millenielas just liked the cheesy song with bad instrumental.

It's been nearly a decade since she hasnt perform it on tour.... watch it bounce once she remembers it exists and that it helped her career a LOT back in the day! Ungrateful ***** :allears:

it got replaced by other hits. i think the kind of people who loved Halo started streaming Sia, ASIB, Kellyoke, those Celine songs that had a resurgence etc.

This is true. People who loved Halo, Listen etc in my country pre-Pandemic gravitated towards ARUTW, Unstoppable, It's All Coming Back To Me Now etc post-Pandemic

I think it's natural for an artist who's been going at it for so many decades. The younger generation tends to relate to younger artists - Taylor is kinda the exception because her music and image has remained quite juvenile save some exceptions (Folkmore in particular).

nah, i do not thinkc thats the reason, it is more something about algorithms and spotify manioulation.  she was doing very well until 2020. there was a time when irreplaceable was in a slight lead over umbrella.... just around covid her catalog spotify streams slowed down.... so god knows what game spotify started playing.

having said that, halo is massive. when queen died it charted in uk even went top 10 or 20 on airoplay

I was always annoyed that this was seen as her ''biggest streaming hit''

She has at least 20 better singles

Her streaming power in general took a toll, I remember her doing better prior to the pandemic once that happened something shifted, sure she still does fine but not as good she did before.

Algorithms don't push her as much as they did a few years ago. This used to be a spotify playlist staple (which explains its early success), and now it's lucky even to be included on Easter or Holiday playlists.

1. Because in 2018 she said **** Spotify

2. Because she doubled down on putting black themes in her music going forward. Lemonade would not be the only occurrence.
3. Like someone else said, once a song gets overplayed for years people move on.
4. Conspiracy theorists + religious nuts + republicans blocking her page to avoid her music.
5. Her catalog spans decades of popular music which lessens streams for all songs over time.

I saw a lot of Hive hating on it.

Now why does ATRL hate classic ballads?

:rogue:

Stans always pretend to hate their faves most popular music, e.g., monsters hating telephone.

Halo is overrated and the different versions with newer arrangements she did over the years were FAR better than the album version

Anyway, its not her best song lol

She has FAR better ballads and mid-tempos

I'm shocked that she only has two tracks above 1B. Britney stopped releasing 8 years ago and her label doesn't bother with the Discovery Mode antics and even she has 4 1B+ tracks :deadbanana:

OT: Halo used to be the face of autoplay on Spotify. We're burnt out and the song was never that popular organically.

Say My Name has 1 billion.

Runnin' would have been because all dj collabs are automatic hits for mpgs but she paid it dust.

Cuff Hit and Savage would have if they had music videos!

Ya even in the streaming era, songs are evolving. Becuase the streams were insane around that time, if it got released around that time it probably would've been a 10 week #1 or something.

But talent always wins in the end and the GP has discovered much better deserving songs in her catalogue including "Crazy In Love" which will eclipse it as her most streamed song so I'm not complaining

It's one of the corniest songs ever by an mpg. Who tf tells their man "I can see your halooo oohh" to get his peepee up? :deadbanana2:

I can see situations where "halo" could be used in a sexual/erotic manner but yeah romantically speaking it's just corny

It's not the monsters hating Telephone hun

It's the HIVES denying Telephone for stan war's sake

:suburban:

Bey doesn't have a "best song" cuz she has too many good songs, but acting like Halo isn't an incredible song is so... :biblionny: Y'all are so edgy!

Anyway it used to be boosted by algorithm and playlists and now it's not. It's still a remembered CLASSIC tho, I heard it on the radio a few days ago!

This this this

I think that the Queen Bey persona and her cultural impact has a lot of casual listeners annoyed by her (and of lot of is racism and misogyny). This started around a decade ago - the release of self titled.

People hating on Halo just because its not streamed that much anymore :1878188721_deadbanana2z-Copy: Its still a classic and a Beyoncé staple
