Do you worry about China?

Featured Replies

They are headed for population collapse by 2035 because of the aging population and low birth rate coupled with strict no immigration policies.

Their housing market is a ponzi scheme just waiting to pop.

The US tariffs are hitting them harder than ever.

It is a mathematical fact that by 2100 their population number is going to be half of what it is today. This would be the case even if they started breeding like madmen tomorrow. This will greatly impact their economy that is based on the availability of abundant cheap labor.

My full focus is on America right now, there's nothing I can do that can change other countries issues, as much as I'd like to help. I don't have the money, power or influence to do anything

I'm SO freaking out about CHINA!

scary stuff happening in CHINA. glad I'm not Chinese these days if I'm honest! :)

edit - this was sarcasm.. my bad lol

Your OP is not the type of worry I was expecting you to speak of lol

no, China will take the hit much easier than many Western democracies who smash the fascism button the second things don't go well

Global population collapse is going to be a huge problem everywhere. Immigration is kinda the only solution, but that brings along a completely different set of problems. The rest of this century is going to be nuts for so many reasons.

I wonder if China might be the first country to mass-produce lab-made artificial humans as a response to population collapse. They could easily develop the technology, and their government is less constrained by ethics. That would be very sci-fi / dystopic.

No I'm worried about my life two days from now much less 2035.

There are countries that have it harder right now so no, I'm not that worried about China, at least not now.

I don't get this obsession with birth rates. I think whatever happens, people will always procreate. People are kind of opting out of it and I don't think that's cause for concern. Why would anybody worry about dwindling human population? :rip:

I thought you were describing post Trump USA. China will be fine, they are a more than 1k years old country.

I mean in the general sense sure, but I'm no more worried about China than I am about the rest of the world lol

someone needs to work! but then again with AI less jobs are needed :michael:

I honestly think humanoids might save our ass

Population collapse is coming for all countries

No one wants to have kids, only religious nuts

I think China has challenges, but so do most countries.

Not necessarily. It depends where you live. European and Asian countries (and many developed countries in general) will likely be drastically affected by these upside down population pyramids in our lifetimes.

This video is scary but gives a peek into the consequences of collapsing birth rates.

South Korea, Japan and Southern Europe (Italy, Spain and Portugal) already have much older populations and that is already affecting those countries in many ways right now. So why worry about China?

China will move towards fully autonomous cities with flying cars and humanoid robots handling most tasks in clean harmonious beautiful environments, while the US, Europe and most of the so called developed world will still be debating whether capitalism is bad or good or if climate change is even real.
