  1. And that one will flop, too.
  2. What worries me is that they can use it to their advantage and even take it to court and then cry out in public that they are being sabotaged by the establishment. What also worries me is their demographic of young voters. These are not ppl that will drop dead in the next 10 or 15 years.
  3. Well, TikTok is their main source of information.
  4. In this rather small state in Germany, you have the situation where a left wing party actually wants to govern with them. That is also a problem
  5. I have several Turkish co workers who openly support the AFD. The situation is way more complicated. You have many immigrant groups where you find plenty AFD voters, predominantly Russians.
  6. It seems to me that in quite a lot of states, especially the bigger ones in the world, you'd expect that when outlandish, factually wrong or simply racist and repulsive comments are being made or some dirt is being exposed, the popularity of such parties would decline, but no: it rises actually each and every time. You would have thought that after a comment like "grab them by the *****" by Trump, his political career would be over, but here we are. Obviously the morals in our society have changed. It's ok to molest and rape women if you are not an immigrant. It's just not okay when you are one. Or we just shift the conversation towards trans people. That's the world we live in right now.
  7. But what consequences would they have to fear? You have Reform UK in Britain, you have Le Pen in France, you have VOX in Spain, Trump in the US, you have Israel, Russia, China and a bunch of other smaller states that have parties that stand for exactly the same.
  8. Like I posted above, there were always sparks of big popularity for far right and far left parties in the eastern states, but not to this extent. To be honest, the very few times I was there, it felt like a different country, especially when you leave the bigger cities like Leipzig, Dresden or Rostock. A good comparison is Texas. You have places like Houston, Austin, Dallas, San Antonio that are blue, but the deeper you go, everything turns blood red. Same with the bigger cities in eastern Germany and the smaller ones, but this result just speaks volumes of how incompetent the average voter is.
  9. And the far left BSW wants to form a coalition with them. Unfortunately this result in that state was to be expected. After years of giving rather unusual results to political parties from the far right and left, it seems that the eastern part of the country will settle with the AFD for a rather long time to come. After all these years of the western German states pimping up their infrasctruture and boost their economy with a rather low percentage of immigrants compared to the rest of the country, you ask yourself: what exactly is their problem? The only answer I can think of is that they hate everything and everybody, even themselves.
  10. No, I don't believe in them
  11. That was absolutely terrible
  12. Maybe that's how she wants to do it
  13. You are not an Ella Fella, yet?
  14. Ngl, I listened to Choosing Texas way more often than Henry, come on
  15. I don't consider the times we are currently living in as conservative. This is straight up far right, authoritarian and very unpredictable. And the left isn't any better by sympathising with Russia and China which are also not better than the far right. You just don't know what's gonna hit you next. Pretty much politics for clicks. The more outrage the headline causes, the more drastic the populism, the better.
