It's telling that the only people who have said Mariah thus far are self-admitted haters of hers lol. Whitney has/d the best vocal gift here, but hers is one of those discographies that's only as good as it is because she was the one singing those songs lol. More often than not, she drastically elevated lacklustre material instead of just having awesome material to work with in the first place. To be fair though, she has the smallest discography here and her big hits are upper echelon.

The funniest thing about this "poor widdle local business :-(" narrative is that the store owners are almost certainly self-important gentrifiers who come from money I mean I have no dog in this fight but it's funny seeing people jump to make underdogs out of some snarky trust fund kids lol.

Given how calculated and meticulous that Tay is in literally everything that she does, the "People can't be expected to do a deep dive on every establishment that they patronise" defence doesn't really work here.

I'll say this much; the optics of a white woman (who was/is wholly embraced by the fashion world) taking the opportunity to throw mud at a black designer and his half-black muse (who had to carve out their own lane because that same world initially stonewalled them) are…kind of horrendous? And the responses here failing to grasp that nuance are even worse. I know that I shouldn't be surprised that a site full of white/white-adjacent gays (i.e racists) don't see the problem here, but I'm still mildly disappointed lol.
