Is God evil?

Featured Replies

I don't know why She would create suffering and inequality if She were not evil.

Also, if She's all-powerful and all-knowing, why does She do nothing to stop it?

It's sus.

No, God is good. Allah and Islam in general is evil.

Yes, every god from any religion is automatically evil for reasons you already stated. I can't wait for religions to finally disappear off the world :flower: even tho it probably won't happen

Shakira has a song about this topic. Questioning god and why is sufferin a thing in the universe :gaycat3:
 very ahead of her time

Lyrics in the spoiler below :gaycat2:

Spoiler

Forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who have trespassed against us
Give us this day our daily bread
Daily bread, daily bread

In caelo et in terra fiat voluntas tua
Gloria Spiritui Sancto

What language do you speak
If you speak at all?
Are you some kind of freak
Who lives to raise the ones who fall?

Hey, could you tell me why
The cat fights the dog?
Do you go to the Mosque
Or the Synagogue?

And if our fates have all been wrapped around your finger
And if you wrote the script then why the troublemakers?

How do you do?
How does it feel to be so high
And are you happy?
Do you ever cry?

I sometimes cry

You've made mistakes
Well that's OK 'cause we all have
But if I forgive yours
Will you forgive mine?

Hey, do you feel our pain
And walk in our shoes?
Have you ever felt starved
Or is your belly always full?

How many people die
And hurt in your name?
Hey, does that make you proud
Or does it bring you shame?

And if our fates have all been wrapped around your finger
And if you wrote the script then why the troublemakers?

How do you do?
How does it feel to be so high
And are you happy?
Do you ever cry?

I sometimes cry

You've made mistakes
Well that's OK 'cause we all have
But if I forgive yours
Will you forgive mine?

Forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who have trespassed against us
Sameh Zoonoobee Allah [Arabic. English translation: "Forgive my sins, Oh, Lord"]
Give us this day our daily bread
Mechila [Hebrew. English translation: "Forgiveness"]
Daily bread
Ya Allah (S'lach lanu) [Hebrew. English translation: "Oh, Lord (Forgive us)"]
Daily bread
Ya Allah (S'lach lanu)

Forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who have trespassed against us
Sameh Zoonoobee Allah
Give us this day our daily bread
Mechila
Daily bread
S'lach lanu
Daily bread
Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory
Amen!

How do you do?
How does it feel to be so high
And are you happy?
Do you ever cry?

I sometimes cry

You've made mistakes
Well that's OK 'cause we all have
And if I forgive yours
Will you forgive mine?

Will you forgive mine?

How do you do?
How does it feel to be so high

Do you ever cry?

But if I forgive yours
Will you forgive mine?

if she actually existed, yes she'd be both evil and good, happy and sad, pissed off and placid, chaotic and calm… see what I'm getting at? god herself is oxymoronic as part of how/what her nature is illustrated to be. it's part of why I can't in good faith believe in a god :dancehall3: an omnipotent would create long term suffering far greater and more severe than the sum of the good sh*t she'd also create, I fear. and I'm saying this as an anticipatory optimist

Religion is evil. God is either everything or nothing, or contradictorily, everything and nothing.

Yeah bc Christianity is one big barrel of laughs

If there is a god, or a force or whatever, I think they either

-are not aware of our existence,

-take pleasure in creatures' suffering

-don't really care to acknowledge what happens here.

If someone was watching over us, or taking care of us (As different religions say), there would be some signs of that. I stopped believing in the idea of an all benevolent god seeing all the suffering many people go through. And not only people, but animals and living creatures go through some sick sh of an existence.

Why would an all benevolent loving god allow that to happen?

Everyone knows Islam can be evil. They kill LGBT. Especially gay men. I'm not religious anymore but if I had to choose it wouldn't be Islam. I don't care for religion.

Btw, free Palestine. Two things can be right at once.

Religion is just a coping mechanism for life, so in that sense... god is evil

But also IDK, I do speak to the sky sometimes and vent my life issues out and it helps

The God of Space might be evil (we have no proof yet but I get the vibes) but the God of Time is doing everything she can to reweave time and fate effectively helping humans

isn't God and Allah the same thing in different languages??

Then we have the Gods of Life and Death. They feel pretty neutral, I get the vibes that "Death" isn't inherently evil, he guides us to the afterlife and comforts us after we die. He is also the only male God with the God of Life being his conjoined twin who is a female somehow

Plot twist: God is not the evil one. We are.

He gave us free will to make our own choices, but we humans abused it :keir:
