Taylor called Aaron her soulmate collaborator tonight, so I think he will be heavily involved with TS11. I'm here for it since he can produce a lot of different things and has a lot of sounds he has not tapped into with her yet

This made me soooo happy, and I have the same feeling for TS11. Aaron :heart2:

Welcome to NY will be an obvious surprise song eventually

this is my greatest fear because i'm going to night 1 of metlife and that's when she did welcome to new york as a surprise on rep tour

imagine all the possible iconic songs that mention new york - maroon, false god, cornelia street, coney island, daylight - and instead you get welcome to new york...

I can't get over the fact they made so many different sounding, amazing, fresh songs together - compared to the absolute turd he cooked up with Ed Sheeran. Soulmates indeed

Is YOYO,K this era's ATW?

I hope so, i find it way better personally.

Invisible String is so underrated. What a pretty and sad song. Beautiful melodies.

Going through a break up rn and this is helping me pull through. Thank you Taylor :weeps:

It really is underrated. It's tied with the last great american dynasty as my favorite song off folklore.

yeah people  are screaming midnights lyrics as for any other surprise song (we love a gp darling). I think after last night she probably will start to play more of them. She already said she's gonna make them more than once.

I mean it's good to listen to old songs but they have to be really great deep tracks classics or songs she hasn't performed already so many times... i can understand someone like jump then fall but she already made that deluxe track so many times... the energy was under a train during that performance, it's 2023 girl, instead of that give us mirrorball 2 times (people really loved that too).

“I hear it in your voice
You're smoking with your boys”

is as bad as the “I can’t say anything to your face cuz look at your face” line in Gorgeous but you all hype this song up just because it’s a track 5.

The entire song should have been like the last 1:30 minutes. Those verses are a crime.

With her "I'm in a Midnights mood lately" on last night's concert, I think that the video she shot last week was for a song off Midnights.

YOYOK sounded so ******* good live:jonny5:It's been hitting hard the past few weeks. Probably my current #1 from the album. And the crowd screaming every single word too omg.... yeah we love a future CLASSIC :jonny2:

The GOD War was amazing too. Aaron you will always be famous :weeps:

I can’t stop watching clips of both. Midnights has really solid tracks that got way too much hate. YOYOK is in her all time career bests if you ask me, and the Great War has some of her greatest songwriting, just like most of the folk+more Dessner tracks. The crowd was so loud for YOYOK.

Yes and that’s why I’m so p*seed it’s not on the setlist. It literally deserves a piano slot every night as the penultimate track, right before Karma as the colorful confetti “encore” closer.

Why have I been sleeping on Labyrinth :ghostface:It's so good .

It’s always been one of my favs, but not everyone gets it. Perhaps it’s too ahead of its time. :giraffe:  glad you came around to it though. In fact the only thing I’d change is extending and elaborating on the instrumental outro, it runs a little shorter than it should if you ask me!

She still has a few little vocal wobbles here and there but her voice is 97% flawless. So crisp, deep, and strong. She’s come so far.

I was thinking this while watching a lot of the surprise song clips. she has so much confidence and control of her voice, and it doesn’t even bother me when people say she can’t sing because i personally enjoy her voice, and I have been a longtime fan so I can recognize the growth.

Still insane that YOYOK is not on the setlist

It’s criminal. Like. Girl. Cut Mastermind. It serves NO purpose at all.

Imagine if ts11 is a pop album with late 90s/ early 2000s singer songwriter alt pop/ grunge influences … a dream

I loved YOYOK on the piano, but it's not the best she's done off Midnights. One of the most exciting aspect of the song (for me) is the build-up in the production throughout, which doesn't translate as much on the piano. I truly think it would hit much harder with full production.

In terms of Midnights songs, Snow On The Beach actually benefitted a LOT from the piano version. It made the song just so much better. I wish we could get a studio version of that one.

I kind of see what you mean about YOYOK’s missing production buildup taking away from it. But personally I love the way she pauses and just soaks in the energy of the crowd during piano ballads.

It dates all the way back to when I first saw her for Red Tour and she would pause midway through the All Too Well bridge because we were SCREAMING in support of her. She used to cry to that song and so everyone would cheer extra hard to make sure she knew she was loved and supported and ever since then some of my favorite moments are her sitting at a piano singing a stripped down ballad and taking moments to let the energy of the room swell.

So even though we traded the euphoric climax of the song away, YOKOONO got a new atmosphere of vulnerability and unified solidarity in exchange. :gaycat2:

Just my take.

Kinda hilarious that she said this after working with Jack on six straight albums (plus rerecordings), but I’m very much here for it!

Midnights was good enough and successful enough that she could have done a proper Midnights Tour. Don’t really know how she could have made that work tho; she had 4 ‘new’ eras to tour and gave them the longer sets in this tour, but she needed to keep all the old catalog hits for the locals.

Does anyone else dislike the way the setlist is separated by era? I definitely would’ve preferred her to mix it all up.

im glad she’s following through with this in the cities she’s touring like we were promised she would. Someone thread it :gaycat1:

68k attendance at Tampa.

Sorry if the question is stupid but why isn't the attendance the same considering it was sold out?

Standing room tickets! There’s no set amount they should/can/will sell. So one night there might be, just pulling a number out of a hat here, 2,510 people standing, the next night there could be 2,493, the next night 2,527, etc. you know?

But why don't they sell the same amount of tickets each night of the same place though, especially when the demand is so high?

Is anyone keeping a running tab on the one-off songs setlist? trying to figure out what could possibly be left by july when I see her 😭😭😭

I don’t have any sort of official answer but.. There’s no set amount of “standing” space.. it’s hard to explain, and I also don’t know the logic behind it, but I’m guessing they just release small bursts of standing room tickets and they kind of guess how many people can fit in the standing zones.

Like let’s say there are 4 designated standing zones, and hypothetically, each one could maybe hold like an estimated 500 people max for a total of 2000 maximum standing room tix, that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll definitely sell an exact 2000 standing tickets each of the 3 nights of the tour. They might just release 1850 to play it safe, or 1900, etc. That’s how I make sense of it anyways

sorry if I made it more confusing :deadbanana:
