God, I really really love it. Much stronger initial reaction vs the main album. I think Patient Zero is an excellent single choice.

Whether she releases a few tracks to clear the waters or not is entirely her choice and the fact that she decided to do it isn't surprising at all. Trying to shift the discourse is just very Taylor.

And I don't necessarily disagree with the rest of your post. My point still stands 1) her decision to release the Showgirl deluxe is not surprising, and 2) there's no contradiction or backtracking in her deciding to release it.
