The way we're all clowning about a Q4 album release when it's becoming increasingly obvious that we wont get anything this year :toofunny3:

2026 always made sense

Since we're talking about first week sales I guess I'll say she is 100% going to clear 1.6M first week in the US. I think it will do around 1.8M with some work. It'll easily surpass 1989 TV as her 2nd biggest first week but I dont think it will come close to TTPD's iconic 2.6M first week. If she really promotes and has a lead that is an undeniable smash then I could see her touching 2M at most.

I wonder when she'll announce ts12, considering the two month window she has adopted each time from lover (excluding folkmore). I'm clowning for today, but there aren't the usual pre-announcement vibes. I think it will arrive soon anyway since I don't think she wants to announce too close to Sabrina's album. What do you think?

yeah, if she won't announce anything in august, i think it's a wrap up, and next possible release date would be next year in february/march (but then touring would be awkward with stadiums availability, so idk).

Love Story is one of the best songs ever made for sure, it's just so refreshing and effortless.. such a timeless classic! It just so brilliant in such a new way. Many other artist have made amazing songs too but many of them are just polished version of already existing ideas or songs.. but Love Story is so Taylor, I don't think any other seasoned country music writer could've written it. Like I can see other artists (singers or writers) creating something like YBWM but not Love Story.

Her sense of casual style has always been a tomboy.

Love that for her.

Having the deluxe a year after means the next album is further away again.

Drop them all at once.

I was imagining a reorganization of the 1989 era, reshuffling the timeline to allow for better chart peaks and longevity, especially on the Hot 100. In this scenario, Taylor does not withdraw from Spotify, and her letter and threat to leave the platform are just as effective as with Apple Music. As a result, artists are fairly compensated, allowing the 1989 singles to enjoy greater longevity, building upon their already massive success thanks to huge digital sales, monstrous YouTube views, and excellent radio support.

"Shake It Off" takes advantage of the summer season with a June release (as "All of Me" begins to lose chart points for #1): the video and promotion are just as we know them, and its upbeat rhythm turns it into her true first summer smash. It spends eight weeks at number one on the Hot 100, 30 weeks in the top 10, and 60 weeks total on the chart.

In September, Taylor releases "Blank Space"; again, the video, performances, and promotion are just like we know them. "Blank Space" stays at #1 for 10 weeks, 33 weeks in the top 10, and up to 53 total weeks on the Hot 100.

Then in October 2014, Taylor releases the 1989 album, leveraging the stronger autumn/winter sales season and the massive success of "Shake It Off" and "Blank Space". 1989 debuts at #1 on the Billboard 200 with:

- 1.25 million pure sales and +250,000 streaming-equivalent sales = 1.5 million total units, setting the record for the biggest debut week for a female artist at the time (surpassing Britney's previous record; only Adele with 25 would later top it)

To celebrate the release of 1989, Taylor hosts a live stream on release day across YouTube, Instagram, and Twitch – styled like the secret listening sessions she had done in September 2014 with a small group of fans to whom she served her famous homemade cookies. In the stream, she talks about the album's songs, her stylistic choices, and surprises fans by dropping the video for "Welcome To New York", inspired by The Devil Wears Prada, Spider-Man, and other iconic NYC-based films. The video, thanks to numerous guest stars, excellent direction, choreography, and the vibrant New York setting, breaks view records:

- 50 million views on day one

- 220+ million views in a week

This allows WTNY to debut at #2 on the Hot 100 (behind "Blank Space" and ahead of "Shake It Off"), making Taylor the first solo or female artist in history to simultaneously occupy the top three spots on the Hot 100 — a record previously held only by The Beatles.

By February 2015, at the Grammys, Taylor, having won Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance with "Shake It Off", presents her next single: "Style", with a performance evoking an elegant '80s evening, wearing a long light-blue gown. The performance goes viral, and on the same night, she premieres the new cinematic video for "Style" (different from the original), breaking her own WTNY record with 55 million views on day one. "Style" rises to #1 on the Hot 100, spends 6 weeks at the top, 28 weeks in the top 10, and 56 weeks total on the chart.

In July 2015, Taylor continues the 1989 era with the "Bad Blood" remix ft. Kendrick Lamar:

Debuts at #1 on the Hot 100 (4 weeks at the top)

- 22 weeks in the top 10

-  44 total weeks on the chart

In December 2015, "Wildest Dreams" is introduced during the 1989 Tour as the fifth single. The video remains as we know it, but Taylor performs it in an official YouTube-exclusive performance, pushing the song to spend one week at #1 on the Hot 100, marking the fifth #1 hit of the era. It remains 18 weeks in the top 10, and 41 weeks on the Hot 100.

Finally, "New Romantics" gets a live tour video released during the 1989 Tour finale. It's promoted as a single and manages to reach #5 on the Hot 100.

During the 1989 Tour, Taylor also releases videos for:

 "Out of the Woods"

"All You Had to Do Was Stay"

 "Clean"

These are promotional singles but still receive solid YouTube views.

Lastly, Taylor includes "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" and "This Is What You Came For" as solo tracks on the deluxe edition of 1989. Both songs become worldwide hits, reaching #1 on the Hot 100, and turning into defining anthems of 2016.

However, after the 2016 Grammys, Taylor seems to vanish. She deletes her Instagram posts, and her reputation hits a low after a renewed feud with the West/Kardashian couple.

Who knows when she'll return...

I had to make a summary with Google Gemini, the original post was too long (2 Word pages):giraffe:

Laufey & Clairo ranking Fearless, Red, 1989 and Lover.

Fearless came on top for both of them. Guess their common bottom.

tldr plz

:clack:

Pursuing Chart Masters to feel something and people really do play about Taylor too much on this hellhole.

Fearless and Red being `~1.5 million units away from TEENAGE DREAM is truly sending me. People treat TD's success like the 2nd coming of Christ and Taylor casually has two before you even account for the TS album that's 12 million units ahead of TD in global units. 1989 is an entire Thank U, Next ahead of Teenage Dream. It's also gonna pass The Fame Monster in within the next year or two. I need people to be serious for a second...

Also 7 of the top 25 female albums released since 2000 belong to Taylor. Besides her, only Adele and Beyonce have multiple entires in the top 25 with two each. People should get warning points for comparing their faves to Taylor tbh...

I wish she'd go back to this writing style. Make songs that are enjoyable and timeless again.
