Times Like These is incredible… And the music video is perfect for the song. Moody, evocative, nostalgic, hopeful. She just really gets it.

am i the only one that doesn't have a problem with her vocals at all? she sounds great on every song and has the same allure as Cassie and Selena Gomez (when she was good).

 

literally the only song that she can't fully sing is Nothing On (But the Radio)

 

people with much stronger voices are unable to convey the tones and pretty melodies that she gives on this album.

i'm certainly not streaming any of those girls but i think it's fair to say that Addison's perspective and sound are outrunning her vocals, and that still works for right now bc it's her debut album and she's still growing as an artist, but when i said what i said about wanting her voice to improve it's just so that she can have more longevity, prove more of her detractors wrong and continue to grow as an artist instead of staying regulated to the likes of the Selena's and Gracie Abraham's of the world .. she has more potential just off this one album alone than A LOT of pop girlies

Timbre-wise, though, Rae's closest contemporary parallel is Billie Eilish, an intimacy-minded singer who understands our ears as well as she understands her own voice. There's a breathy, ASMR-like softness tucked into most of Rae's songs — as well as some louder fourth-wall breakage during the finale of "Money Is Everything" when a fleet of Addisons materializes to shout along with the refrain, prompting us to do the same. On the album opener, "New York," the big cue to heed Rae's loudness-softness is lyrical, describing the thump of a nightclub subwoofer and a masticated rhythm that only exists inside your head: "Kick drum, chew gum."

Even better is "Fame Is a Gun," a dreams-come-true anthem that spins Gwen Stefani's "What You Waiting For?" and Laurie Anderson's "O Superman" into a new kind of cotton candy. "There's no mystery. I'm gonna make it, gonna go down in history," Rae sings in the exquisite second verse. "Don't ask too many questions. God gave me the permission," her voice suddenly shooting upward in the middle of the word "permission" as if she were nudging heaven. Is it a perfect pop song? There's no such thing. We're reminded of that whenever someone gets this close.

I've seen 100+ comments and 10000+ up votes on Reddit and daily Mail yesterday saying Addison has an average face and an average body

 

Have peoples hate blinded them or are they just delusional? Addison is like 10/10 on the pretty scale. Seems like she has a huge hate train saying she has a fetish for feet (so what) and calling her trailer park trash etc. they're so weird

Times Like These into Life's No Fun Through Clear Waters into Headphones On ……… it all just clicked for me in such a huge way. i thought times like these was just another cute girl initially but the one two three PUNCH of that run jesus it's so immaculate

not to objectify her but i think she's truly so gorgeous and has such an ideal female body. there's enough stick thin pop stars in the world, and she herself is still thin but naturally curvy. anyone saying she has an "average" body as it pertains to attractiveness is most assuredly an incel.

i think Addison looks very normal which is a huge part of her appeal

 

the key part is her style and attitude convey her celebrity, compared to someone like Renee Rap who both looks and acts like a regular person (and it's holding her back)

Times Like These is her strongest track yet imo, each release has been better than the previous one. And that video is just stunning... giving '90s Madonna energy.

her tone is genuinely good though. i'm waiting for at least one live TV performance this era. i think it's needed to push her further, but she needs to be comfortable.

 

"Headphones On" would be the best bet i think.

I wouldn't say she looks "normal" in that she's stunningly beautiful. People just aren't used to seeing women her age without any cosmetic facial alterations, so she looks "average" to them because their brains don't know how to compute natural human faces anymore.

for me i find her physically beautiful but a lot of it is definitely her eyebrows and facial expressions . she has the same aura as Dua in the New Rules mv. Great eyebrows and that kind of sultry/moody expression can make someone SO much more attractive

she is beautiful but here in Australia she looks like any girl on the beach tbh, i agree about the natural thing though and it works in her favor
