I can't believe it's the same mixing engineer that does Olivia and Chappell's music yet this sounds like garbo in comparison when there's just basic ahh drums and synths here in comparison to their music which is way more complex

So conflicted on this. On the one hand I think it's catchy (even the spoken chorus) and I like that it's playful, but on the other hand it just feels... redundant. I'm just kinda tired of her just using her 'angelic high voice', although it's beautiful as ever. Some of the lyrics are kinda clunky, too. 

 

I think it'll end up as a song Iike, but don't really consider 'good' or a standout. Curious to hear if the album will all be like this or more diverse in sound

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, of course. But beyond Marina, this pattern of negativity is common across all fandoms—it's clear that negativity drives clicks and views. Many find it easier to follow the crowd and echo criticisms rather than stand firm in their own opinions. I believe there's a mix of both happening here—some genuinely not connecting with the music, while others are simply joining the wave of negativity because they see others doing it. the verses lyrics kinda meh but i love the chrous, her vocals is giving me tfj but the production is l+f so is a win/win for me

what the mixing engineer supposed to do when he receives this? he did his best, the mixing is the least of this song's concerns

Us Diamonds are used to the negativity surrounding MARINA. The haters seem personally offended by every step she takes, which leads me to think that they are mentally unstable. Some people wish to delete certain songs and albums from her discography, as if their existence has any effect on their pathetic lives. They can't comprehend that other people still enjoy her work, and they want to suppress and shut her down, much like a crazy president or billionaire with severe megalomania. I've noticed some users returning to the thread repeatedly to express their dislike of the new song. Just accept that she won't serve you the shallow gay club bangers you crave so desperately. If you can't accept confident women doing what they like without feeding into your sick expectations of what a female artist should do to satisfy your desires, then go listen to BRAT.

The song and video are cute. She's drawing inspiration from her previous songs and videos. Resourceful queen
