Well it's really simple. BbyWOW is bigger in LATAM and in the USA, Dai Dai is WAY bigger in the rest of the world (literally the whole rest). The sole reason it's bc it wasn't released in Spanish at first, and YouTube doesn't count for the Hot 100 anymore. There's a huge Latin audience in the States for this type of songs, and even Shakira was able to smash like that with the Bzrp session and TQG which both charted inside the Top 10 too.

TQG was also her ONLY #1 on Global Spotify before Bby WOW. I'm comparing her hits you say are global to Shakira's ACTUAL WW hits. YOU make no sense. I literally said it's ok for her to have her first WW hit without Shakira. It doesn't matter how big TQG was, she had never had a hit like BbyWOW before. She isn't global yet lol.

She remains with only ONE top 10 in the US. Which is TQG. Besides, all of her songs are in Spanish, and her US success heavily relies on her Latin American and Hispanic audience there. Do you think the average American or European gives a **** about those songs you mentioned? Can you say the same about Hips Don't Lie, Whenever, Wherever or Waka Waka? Or Dai Dai in Europe? EXACTLY.

Honestly, it's super rare for a World Cup song to be the biggest hit of the entire year. Normally they fade out after a few weeks, but Dai Dai was just so massive that it totally outlasted the tournament hype.

I was looking at Dai Dai's U.S. YouTube numbers during the two weeks when it went #17 → #20 on the Hot 100, and the numbers are actually pretty interesting. Using the old Billboard streaming weighting, where ad-supported streams counted at roughly 2/3 the weight of paid streams, we can estimate how much YouTube activity would have added to its streaming volume. Source: Kworb U.S. YouTube data https://kworb.net/youtube/insights/us.html ANALYSIS: DAI DAI'S YOUTUBE USA METRICS That's a LOT of streaming activity that wasn't being counted toward the U.S. Hot 100 anymore! I'm not claiming this means Dai Dai would have been exactly #9 or #11 — that would require recalculating the entire chart. But what we CAN say is that Dai Dai had millions of additional weighted U.S. streaming plays coming from YouTube that were no longer reflected in its Hot 100 performance. The #17 → #20 run doesn't tell the whole story of how big the song was in U.S. streaming. WHAT DO Y'ALL THINK?
