It's not horrible but it's very mid and too long. This is the lead single?? Does not give me hope for the rest of the album..

I feel like this is halfway towards a great song. I don't hate the chorus as much as everybody else apparently but maybe some gang vocals would have been better? Like the cheerleader vocals in Teen Idle. The second verse needs a pick-me-up, it's too sparse. Give me some percussion, hell even a kick drum. Something. And girl find the melody. The "flyyyyyyyyyy" melody is just meandering around. She sounds and looks great though.

Who is doing a the chorus? If it was a grimes feature I would say it's nice but it's out of place and character for marina.

I don't know what you guys are saying but the build of the song is not easy. This isn't something a drag queen can learn in 2 hours and perform it afterwards. It's actually quite difficult.

it's so obvious that the people commenting on the negativity weren't on twitter during the froot era... miss thing could not catch a break 

Butterfly definitely wasn't a song suited for my taste. The whole "Yeah, Im a Butterfly" chorus reeks of that cutesy Japanese kawaii (づ｡◕‿‿◕｡)づ chipmunk vocals that I just can't STAND in any format.  I'll wait for the full album though.

This a classical Marina quirky song, with some depth in it as well.

 

I doubt the album would be bad only based on this.

The multiple Marinas are my favourite parts of the video.
