also from what i've seen from the visuals she takes herself way too seriously with songs like these, just adds to the corniness 

The problem is she already gave us EH and jewels back to back and inevitably when these two have been so perfect it is so hard to imagine how they can be topped. Butterfly's cute though. tbh after all these years I've realised her voice and her accent always save even her worst songs

I always love Marina's melodies, particularly when paired with her head voice. And this song is no exception. In a lot of ways, this sounds like something from FROOT. And I think the vocally pitched chorus is cute idea. It's nice to hear her experiment a little.

 

But usually, I feel like Marina is singing to me where I am, that is, at my age. This is the first time since Electra Heart that it sounds like she's singing to a younger audience who needs to hear lyrics like this. At my age, I don't need clichés, so it's hard for me to connect with the song and its message. "Too bad you'll never see the colors inside me" is a great line to end the song, though.

 

Again, I think this might work better within the context of the full record. Overall, it's okay. Not my favorite, not my least favorite either.

It's not bad overall, but she refuses to evolve musically. This could've easily been on any one of her albums.

It's okay. I haven't truly vibed with Marina since her 1-2 punch of TFJ and EH.   

It's honestly not even that bad but there is really no reason this song should be almost 5 minutes long lmao. Like gorl, the chorus is not that great for it to be in there 3-4 times I promise.
