Not that ATRL matters irl, but I never see SZA being given enough recognition on here the way other girls do 

 

Not enough threads/mentions, and even recently when Sabrina's album pulled a 300k debut, all the comments were like "wow the only other MPGs who can pull such numbers are Taylor, Beyoncé, Billie, Olivia, Adele, and Ariana" as if SOS didn't debut with 318K and was #1 for literally one fifth of a year, blocking Taylor for many weeks last year  

 

People also mention that a hypothetical Lana or Chappel album release could snatch AOTY, but never mention that a SZA release could clear @ the Grammys

 

What's up with that?

SOS one of the biggest female albums ever

 

SZA one of the best artists to come out in recent times. her pen and melodies game is unmatched

 

Solana's next era is gonna cement her as a legend imo

SZA's great and her music is easy to listen to, particularly for girls who like RnB, but her artistry doesn't really call for "stanning."

 

It's kind of like liking Adele — a lot of people enjoy her music, but they're not tweeting fans of other artists, "say that one more time and I'll shít in your mailbox, I'm so serious."

Because the SOS album was huge but she hasn't really done much with the era since the album release besides the Snooze video. The endless teasing of a deluxe/LANA and yet we've still got nothing. 

 

There's no point in discussing how she could win a Grammy for a project that we don't even know will be released in the next 3 years.

I guess part of it is her success is a bit US-centric. Kill Bill is her only top 10 as a lead artist in the UK afaik. But hopefully that will change with the next era

SOS is massive but she's not much of a huge persona and doesn't have an extensive body of work. 

Because she's no longer being pinned against Taylor. ATRL was full of SZA stans in 2023

that's a good thing, less atrl recognition means longer career. you should be worried if atrl is suddenly obsessed with you and your face is all over everyone pfp, i wish you an ounce of luck in that case!

I also agree this is a large part of it, now they don't exist. These excuses are funny cause this site talks about pop girls that haven't been noteworthy in anything in over a decade.

I don't know. She kinda faded into oblivion and I don't know why. Maybe the collab with Sexy Red cursed her

SZA is black and atrl doesn't really care for black music artists outside of Rihanna and Beyonce. ATRL also doesn't really celebrate R&B music except for a select few of us on here.

As in there's no "in-fighting" caused by her artistry. She's just in her own lane, doing her own thing, making music that's really pleasant to listen to.

 

Sabrina's doing the conventional pop star thing and already has 2 x separate love triangles under her belt, ofc there's going to be stan wars.

Honestly, I never considered stanning someone as a "choose your fighter" kind of thing. But I guess I can see your point considering the kind of conversations that take place in here.

She's talented, beautiful and makes great music. Personally every time I decide to listen to her music I'm satisfied. I think that maybe the reason why I don't mention her as much is because she's not giving C.U.N.T and serving "I'm gonna give the gays everything they want" 24/7 😂😂 that's okay tho. She gives off a very mature, chill, self loving and confident aura. I love that for her. 
 

At the end of the day what truly matters are the numbers and the quality of your product.

R&B is no longer popular among GP. Otherwise, people would be losing their minds over Muni Long's new album which is R&B perfection.

she's an incredible artist, her discography is smash after smash! I do understand the perspective of her being R&B not being the preferred genre of stan culture/ATRL, but I consider her to be genre agnostic, truly. sure she's got a majority of R&B-indebted sounds in her discography, but her artistic range is soooo diverse and fantastic and ethereal  I think her lack of major promo in a traditional pop girl sense has hindered her ability to be "stanned" by some of y'all's metrics, but I personally stan her for sure. her lack of following through can sometimes be frustrating, but she's yet to disappoint on a musical front so it's a waiting game but she's always worth the wait!
