Has Taylor lost her creativity/magic touch?

Featured Replies

Haven't heard the new album yet just basing off the sentiment here :cm:

it feels like she's losing her touch? Midnights is from what I can tell many Swifties least favourite album and now this?

in the decline real?

Well here is your problem.  ATRL has trash taste.

Yes.

Enough said. The sentiment in question originates from Taylor's second fanbase (who are somehow always first on the scene)

OT: This album is brilliant and no amount of purposely dense takes will change that in my eyes. A career highlight, in fact :gaylorcat2:

Can you wait until the album officially comes put to make these threads?

Some of us haven't even heard it, I wanna hear it in Spotify and not some bit torrent BS

As someone who hasn't heard anything I can tell most of the people hating on the album are people who already hated her before.

Haven't really seen any real fans trashing it other than very few isolated cases

the evil bleachers frontman sucked it out of her like a dementor! ENOUGH OF THIS MAN!

jack antonoff lost it, and she doesn't know how to let him go (she actually does: old habits die screamingggggg).

Let's just say we've seen what she can do 11 times. 20 if we count tvs

no, she's still incredibly creative

the only thing makes her uncreative is Jack Antonoff's production.:rip:

How about you wait until you listen for yourself and form your OWN opinion? :skull:

Yes please. I love reading the posts and comments here about the album as it make sme hyped to listen on Spotify later buit these threads are really unnecessary. (Yet I'm still commenting here :gaycat7:)

For now yes but i have not given up
I will wait until she starts working with new people, maybe that will reignite the spark

Charlie Puth would've helped her produce an unforgettable album. This.. it just isn't memorable, at all. I started zoning out.

No but I think she's spread too thin and is too obsessed with prolonging her commercial peak by constantly giving people something new to stream. In the past four years she's put out 8 albums (!!!!!!) and she's been on tour for a year. Of course the quality is going to suffer and she's going to retreat to a creatively safe zone. Also I'm wondering if she's consciously feeding her fans something safe and familiar so she won't rock any boats and lose any fans by experimenting.

I don't think it's totally gone; there are songs on TTPD that are great they just happen to not be the songs she worked with Jack on; overall the album sounds like a rehash of her past work and I think that's because she's clearly enjoying this new commercial peak + she's working with Jack too much; they bring out the worst in each other musically. When I listen to Jack's work with Lana, Lorde or other artists it doesn't feel as familiar or same old to me as it does when he works with Taylor. She needs to put out the rest of these rerecords quickly and take a break, or at the very least do something truly different with the next project

Not even close. She's about to release her best mainly-pop album yet tonight, and plenty of her fans will love it as they have her other records. I'd argue she's only just now hitting her stride in some ways, since this album manages to be well-written and lyrically engaging while being more transparent and honest about herself than ever. The genres and sounds will change over time - and I happen to love the current one - but her writing is the core that needs to show improvement and growth, and I think it does here.

She really has all of you that bothered huh…

for you to be talking trash about her album before it's even out

And yet you're typing up this crap... :deadbanana4:

"i haven't heard the album yet but let me make a thread based on what her haters scream on ATRL without even hearing it and making a judgement for myself because i wanna stir up drama"

What about Taylor was ever creative? :deadbanana:

Which music video? Which song? Which performance? Which interview? Which outfit?

LITERALLY NOTHING
