Into You outstreaming Cruel Summer, surprised?
It was seen as an underperformance for Ariana at the time, all of her singles at least went top 10 on the Hot 100, and it peaked at 13. She's a Pop Radio darling and it didn't even go top 5 We had not yet fully transitioned into the streaming era as we know it today either, Spotify was still catching on. So it wasn't a faceplant, but definitely an underperformance. Just goes to show you how high the standards are for her

Who is actually more important to pop culture: Britney or Rihanna?
It's not a diminishment of Rih's impact to say that Britney had an objectively bigger footprint, in the sense that she pioneered a template for young female pop stars and ushered in an entire sub-genre of popular music. That's just a fact. Not to mention the way she was covered and discussed in the media; even at Rihanna's peak, she never came that close to achieving that. What I will say is that Rihanna is by far the more culturally ubiquitous figure in pop culture , in the sense that she's occupied and dominated several different lanes (fashion, music, business, etc.) simultaneously; Britney never managed to really break out beyond music and the tabloids. Rihanna is also still culturally relevant, whereas Britney is often discussed in a retrospective way. That's partly her choice, but also because of her circumstances. I think it's a very stark difference, but it doesn't change the fact that if you took Britney away there would be a pretty massive hole left behind, and popular culture as a whole would look totally different. You could make the same argument for Rihanna, but not with at the same scale.

Into You outstreaming Cruel Summer, surprised?
It was doing pretty impressive numbers before the tour even started, though objectively speaking the tour is definitely helping its exposure. OT: Taylor's recurrents have been low (for her standards) but she hasn't been active since Showgirl which is definitely a factor. Her Taylormania numbers were not really sustainable long-term though.

That wasn't shade, my comment was more about the wider industry. I also dgaf about Harry Styles, so your comment was not helpful- The Romantic has now sold over 1 million total units in the US

Usually the comparisons/songs sounding similar are a bit of a reach but in every instance with this girl it's been warranted- Gaga overtakes Billie's BOAF for most streamed song by a lead female. Surprised?
Not sure who you're talking about but one of my faves gave Gaga one of her only hits this decade but okay - Ariana Grande's 'petal' passes 1 billion streams on Spotify
