Installed the new iOS 27 Developer Beta and had to join the waiting list for Siri AI, over 2 days and nothing yet….

Just upgraded my iPad A16 this week to the M5 11 inch iPad Pro to use as my daily driver personal device (with a MacBook Neo for task that absolutely require a desktop, like uploading all my Oklou files to Apple Music ). Y'all, I have never laid hands on a more gorgeous, more enthralling device in my life - it's wild how thin it is, and the 13 inch is even thinner! But having the 11 inch makes it small enough to take in my personal item backpack on a plane and makes it easier to use for tiny hands so I got that. I'm soooo excited for iPad OS 27 to hopefully give me some stuff to mitigate the Liquid Ass transparency, but beyond that it's perfect. A literal dream.

Got onto Siri AI around 12am last night, I love the fact that Siri is now in my camera too.

I wanna install this on my 17 PM so bad but I'll just wait until early September for the RC

I'm actually annoyed they're releasing a foldable phone and not a flip phone.

I don't care for a bigger screen, but I wanted a little change in aesthetic

Been debating all month about switching to android (Zflip8). I've just found apple's last couple of iPhone releases redundant/basic. I know there's a chance that Apple will announce their own flip this month but since I already own an ipad i don't know if that 2K price tag would even be worth it.

Just wanted to share my current 1st world crises.

Decided because I wasn't using my iPad nearly as much as I'd thought to trade it in and change my phone to an iPhone Air, in Sky Blue while I can still get it since it sounds like they may phase that color out for the second generation. Y'all, the battery sucks on this thing, but holy **** is it beautiful - going caseless with just a screen protector. I will say it looks basically just white in most lighting, which I don't mind at all since I was on the fence between white and blue anyway; I try to keep my personal aesthetic and tech very, very minimalist and looking functional but refined. I'd read about someone saying it's the first iPhone since the X to feel truly cool and like a step forward to hold and use, and that's so true. Super intrigued to see how they iterate on it next spring, might even upgrade it at that time if it stays thin and light (and there's a nice subtle, minimal color I don't hate, even just the white one would work). So far I don't miss having a telephoto lens, I don't mind the bump as much as I thought I might, and I like having a little extra screen more than I expected (I'm a former iPhone Mini girlie and would go back to that in a heartbeat).

As far as future form factors, I think my dream phone is a lot like this, but without a bump if possible (as technology eventually makes that possible), even if I have to sacrifice even more camera quality - and maybe with a screen that's a little smaller for my tiny hands, too.

Even having a brand new iPhone Air in hand as I type this and being incredibly skeptical of the durability of foldables… the Duo does have me a little gagged, not gonna lie. Kind of wish the colors were a little more fun, but that doesn't matter all that much compared to how it seems suited for how I like to live my life centered around one simple, seamless device experience rather than a separate tablet and phone, jumping to my laptop half the time, etc.

It's cute but the little icons on the right to assist with the phone being too wide for one-hand use is kinda ghetto.

The way I didn't even know that Samsung cut corners like that. I saw it in person and thought it was cute, but the Duo being ONLY $100 more than that makes me feel bad for the iPhone users that flocked to Android just for the Fold 8 when this is virtually superior is every way. And the wait wasn't even that long.

I've been an Apple girl since the first iPhone and I've been wanting a foldable phone for so long... this is not it, though. What is that shape? Obviously I'll have to check it out in person, but it does not look like a phone you can easily use while it's closed, and while it's open it's going to require two hands for operation. I get they wanted to mimic the iPad aspect ratio as closely as possible, but doing so has resulted in an objectively ugly phone.

People kept talking about how Apple wasn't going to do this type of phone unless they could perfect a screen that wouldn't crease, but it doesn't appear they've done that. There is nothing touting a "creaseless display" anywhere on the website, and that is something they absolutely would use as a selling point if they were able to figure it out.

I do think they're clever touting the "seated" and "standing" positions. Literally every foldable has those but Apple is touting them as added features, and tbh, the way they are showing the positions does make them look like they are cool, additional features lol.

Nevertheless, probably not gonna get the first iteration. I'll see if people like this enough for Apple to do an iPhone Duo 2 or if this goes the way of the Vision Pro.
