It bothers me so much. Her labels would've kept milking the teen pop sound well into her 30s if it was up to them. Britney was the one who really wanted to switch sound by her third album. She's the one who had a ear for hits, label didn't want Toxic on the album, much less as a single. The misinformation around her being a puppet is so frustrating.
