My whole Madonna kick recently was kind of inspired by my own mom. She hasn't been doing so well as of late, so I've been feeling nostalgic and thinking back to her listening to Live to Tell (her favo

Some idiot on Reddit is trying to tell me she's in the same category and Cher and Barabra Streisand in terms of her only ever having a gay fanbase. You don't become that popular and sell that many albums if that was the case.

Currently her fanbase is largely made of gay men and some lesbos, like 95% but back in the 80s she was also huge amongst str8 people and some of them are still fans. This reminded of the story of a brazilian man in his 50s or 60s that had a daughter and traveled a big distance to see her in Copacabana in the middle of a cancer treatment. His daughter helped and supported him along the travel. He is a big fan and there's plenty of examples like this.

I agree. It's probably some bitter and deluded Gaga fan who doesn't know wtf they're talking about.

Cher and Barbra were never global in the same way Madonna was, and they didn't have as many hits either...and both of them recorded around 30 albums each. lol

clap She really, truly, is repeaking.

Been revisiting her discography in preparation and Physical Attraction is such a bop

These lyrics are everything:

Maybe we were meant to be together
Even though we never met before

I need that Honey Dijon remix posted on the previous page

It's got such strong Madonna DNA, it deserves to be more than an album cut

Hard Grammy is such a good album 👏 just because it's not ultra deep doesn't make it bad. And I love the era too. Her look during the tour was incredible. I even love Incredible.

It's so fitness coded. I love working out to it.

rewatching the mdna tour for the first time in forever and it's way better than i remembered. girl gone wild, papa don't preach, hung up, express yourself, candy shop/erotica and vogue are all highlights here. the mdna songs of course are mostly terrible but she still gave it her all.

Agreed, I listened to it in the car earlier and it's such a slay. I forgot how brilliant some of her albums continue to be.

I think I almost became resentful to albums like Music for a while because they seemed like such a distant memory from the Madonna we knew until very recently rip

That's what's been crazy about the last 72 hours. I mean, I remember when the first Confessions came out but I was 12. So I wasn't fully in adult stan mode yet.

I can't imagine what the collapse of each album era from Erotica onwards must have been like when it was just sublime record after sublime record jonny5

I went to a Madonna party on Friday and it was so good.

They played Confession II in full and then some songs mixed with her other hits. Met so many interesting people over the weekend cause of Madonna. She really did bring together with this album.

I don't know how many times I've heard 'what's your favourite Madonna album' last week lol

Exactly. Probably music record release was the peak for midnight release in her career. Because we were all blown away by the brilliance of ray of light. The general public included. She slayed in the ray of light era, so the expectations got through the roof. So she made her biggest debut sales with music release in her entire career.

I remember listening to it for the first time after getting back home with the new cd and putting it on at 1 am.

I was blown away by its richness and splendid production with warmth.

Gosh what an album.

After that she got back on the road with drowned world tour , which was held in 8 years after the last genius tour, girle show.

Omg her comeback to the road became the ww event. Her tickets sold like lightening speed and so expensive. She totally slayed that era again too

This woman survived and revived era after era.

No one can call themselves an era in front of this real queen.
