I'm happy they won, and as someone who's half Bosniak half Serb with dual citizenship I voted for them because Vucic winning again would've been a disaster and I know what's at stake. However I am deeply disappointed that the majority of them hold very nationalist views, so many of them chanting in support of Ratko Mladic immediately after victory was objectively disgusting. How ******* hard is it to not worship Ratko Mladic/Chetniks and Putin. Russian flags on every corner. "Vucic, you Shiptar" chants everywhere. A lot of them aren't against Vucic because they don't like him being right wing, but because they think he should've been even more right wing.

And thank god there was no social media during the war in Bosnia where I grew up. All of these people would've defended the Russia loving Milošević and Ratko Mladić. All of these people would've denied the Srebrenica genocide, considering how eerily similar Serbian propaganda was to Russian propaganda. The EXACT same talking points were, and continue to be used there, like the ethnic serbs in the east being endangered, bosniaks being nazis and terrorists, and the west being at fault that serbs were having rape camps. And oh - that the Bosniaks were bombing themselves. All of these propaganda talking points are also used for Ukrainians and people just fall for it. Tankie hero Chomsky was also a Srebrenica denier and pro Russia. Russia also denies the Srebrenica genocide and is a safe haven for Serbian war criminals and their families. They've also deeply meddled in our politics for decades through Dodik. This site would've been full of "I don't support Ratko Mladić BUT *proceeds to justify everything he's done*" and the mods would've tolerated it.

Russia killed more civilians in Chechnya than Israel did in Gaza. This is the country tankies are choosing to defend and pretend is not imperialistic nor evil. But hey, most of them don't even know what a Chechnya is. The idea that USA and Israel being evil means that somehow Russia could never possibly be imperialistic as they currently occupy both Ukraine and Georgia is so funny to me.

Except Ukraine is not in NATO, you can't pin American crimes onto Ukraine to whitewash Russia. Ukraine was neutral in 2014 and Russia still invaded. What do you think Ukrainians should do? Just let themselves be annexed by Russia? Should they go "yes we are bombed by Russia but we will NOT accept help from the Western world because we need to put everyone else ahead of us" Chechnya wasn't in NATO when they were independent from 1996 to 1999 and Russia still crushed them and killed even more % of civilians there than Israel did in Gaza. You have to accept that Russia is an imperialistic country too, occupying other territories and meddling in the politics of other countries. Ukraine has every right to not want to be under Russian control. When people are at war, they can't always choose the perfect helpers, Bosniaks for example during war had no choice but to accept help from Mujahideens, who obviously weren't some pure perfect people, and help from NATO too. They were too busy trying to survive to put them on purity tests. And oh, they didn't have people like you sitting comfortably in their unbombed houses telling them how people in Rwanda had it worse (a genocide happening around the same time as the Srebrenica genocide) and that they should just let the Serbs take over since the help they got from NATO in 95 in bombing the Serb bases, wasn't there at all for the people in Rwanda.
