As nice as it would be for the public to appreciate her recent efforts as much as her earlier efforts, how many girls can say that their first three albums have had the massive longevity TF, TFM, and BTW have had? 

 

They've pulled great recurrent streams in her hiatus. Gaga's streams are going to be delicious when she releases LG7. Hell, they'll look delicious when the JFAD soundtrack is released.

Meh Ya Ya is not the best on CC and feels like a tack on. A-Yo is tighter and goes for the jugular far more efficiently; Gaga eats the top line up and spits it out with suave gravel and grit before literally revving up to 100 into the chorus, it's thrilling to listen to, lives up to the vision and is not the example to use for Joanne not working as an album. When Beyoncé's ideas of a country album bop is supermarket spammed HO HEY Lumineers music I think we should try and be doing a little less.

Literally all of this. It's not about Gaga trying to repeat a past success, whether it be her own or to replicate someone else's. It's just that everyone knows what she's capable and want to see her excell at that level again. And her releasing good albums recently doesn't negate the fact that she could be working at an even higher level.

 

Like would we want her to do a bunch of streaming films or work with "good, not great" directors instead of picking great, prestigious films like J:FáD? Cuz that's basically the same argument and scenario except for her film career.

The way Gaga's vibrato sounds while she's belting at 0:24 reminds me of that Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down) performance where she projected her voice without a microphone towards the end of the song.

Critical reception/Musicality is not about who does which genre. It's about how much artists delivers. If Beyonce dropped joanne she would have flopped If Gaga dropped something like Cowboy Carter she would have been acclaimed. It's simple. If Gaga releases rock album for LG7 with quality of AM(Arctic Monkeys), Black Star(David Bowie),  Blue Rev(Alvvays) she will be praised. If she release rock albums with quality of Maroon 5, Linkin Park she will be flop.

Maroon 5 and Linkin Park don't do the same kind of music at all, Maroon 5 music is not even rock, all their Grammy nominations are in pop category, LP are actually respected, not sure where this correlation come from, the rest is subjective.

What I mean is if Gaga releases quality music she will be praised. We can't claim some kind of universal acclaim not even from fans with result of Joanne or Chromatica.
